WXP for Player Kills
I’m in it for the fights, not the WXP. If you just kill other players I can see how this would bug you, but I feel like this system represents the developer’s desire for WvW to be focused on objectives.
Here is a very good reason things are what they are : to prevent people who really outnumber their opponents to stay at their spawn point and farm them. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t take hours to refill your WXP value, and if the guy died a bunch before you killed him, it’s probably because his server is being outnumbered, or because the guy is a sub 80 who doesnt really know how to play. Either way, killing him isn’t a big achievement.
well i have been getting no wxp for killing a bunch of tc and db this week in open field. They are definitely not outnumbered and definitely not spawn camping … So killing a guard is a big achievement??? please.
I enjoy a fight just the same I was just stating that it makes no sense to get 10 wxp for killing npcs and getting less for killing a real player. I guess you guys seem to think Anet got it right……
As was said, it is an objective game.
Just yesterday I ran into a roaming EB ranger who interrupted me from taking out a DB camp. We had a good, hard, long and extremely fun fight, but in the end he conceded defeat, left the camp and gave a salute. I claimed the objective, I won the fight. Killing him and grabbing that 9001 Wxp (or whatever he had built up) would not help my server any more than simply taking the objective (which I did).
The bonus Wxp for killing someone who doesn’t die is just the reward you get for being the one to be able to defeat that player… but the real reward is taking the objectives. There are already enough incentives for not helping out your teammates in this game, we don’t need more.
