Guild Wars 2

I was leveling up an alt today to try getting them ready for the tournament by the end of this weekend only to find that all experience i was getting was negligible. 2xp for ore nodes 130xp for a tower, i quit after that but this is on a level 30 character. is this a bug? or has it been decided that this is no longer a “correct” way of playing to level 80? am i too inexperienced to gain xp in wvw, i mean i only have several lvl 80s this must just be too complicated for me to understand.

I sure hope not. That’s where I level most of my characters now. That and EotM, which would probably receive the same XP nerf if it’s actually true.

I just tried a different character and at least at lvl 60 xp seems to be normal, the level 30 still is getting crap xp

Not sure what is up with it. Level 29 character doing level appropriate events and I got 40 xp went to wvw got the same. Kinda really sucks if this is an intended thing.

On the crafting forum there is a reference to crafting level experience issue as well. Someone at lvl 28 only gaining 1 level from 0-400 cooking. I assume and hope it is a bug with level scaling.

sounds like that’s the culprit ill make a post on the bugs forum.

XP has always been scaled to suit the actual level of the character, but with the 9/9 patch, the amount of XP required to gain earlier levels has changed a lot, and some bugs were introduced.

There’s really no way to know which is working as intended and which is not. I’d post a bug report and see what response you get back.
