Doesn’t this ever get checked?

The cheaters seem to run in packs now. Guess this is what people get for playing free to play after the initial purchase.

Yes it gets checked and they get banned, but you need to do your part and properly report the offenders via in-game report, and if some reason you are unable to select them to access the report feature, video record what the offender(s) are doing and send it in to exploits@arena.net with details such as what server you are on, what time and date you recorded the footage and what borderland it was on.

Without dedicated in game GMs it can take them ages to get around to banning them.

Most of them have multiple accounts and even with video proof it can sometimes take Anet months to ban them. (back in my old server we had all 3 servers in the matchups report a group of hackers for months before they got banned, video proof and all)

Dream on. Even if you happen to have video running 24/7 and happen to capture them on it, still nothing will be done for months if not years- and then they will just hop on to an alt account and start over.

Gave up reporting years ago as a complete waste of time as nothing ever came of multiple reports from hundreds of people.

But don’t stop believing, after all, the tooth fairy is real, right?

This is always a vicious cycle. The problem is people don’t see it working. A person reports a hacker and they see nothing. This leads to people thinking nothing happens, thus not reporting and making the situation worse.

First off A net cannot ban sight unseen. They don’t know if this guy got 30 reports because he was hacking or some guys are getting revenge for flipping their tower. This means a mod has to be (usually invisibly) watching when the hack is done.

Secondly even if you ban them they can get another account and go again. This is stopped somewhat by anet (through ip bans, hardware bans, ect.) but a lot of that can be switched around or faked. Each ban makes it harder to repeat, but not impossible.

Banning people is not just swinging some hammer, there is a ton of work finding, proving, and making sure it does not happen again.

Banning hackers and bots for a few months is not punishment. You need Sherlock Holmes to gather all the data Anet requires. Sadly the game is burning out for many people and just not worth the effort any longer.

I’m actually still surprised the PINK thief hacker from BG who ports through walls, contest wp and destroys siege is still around. He’s been reported for quite a long time and video has been submitted to anet. The guy has 17,000 AP lol So he’s been around, hackers are flourishing these days, just gonna drive off more wvw players.

That PINK account has been around for years now and he has been reported so many times it borders on ridiculous. His account pre-dates the free to play HoT changes. At this point it is a running joke that this account hasn’t been permanently banned.

No, it actually won’t. Not yet anyway.

The lack of WvW updates or attention by the development team is driving the players away. The only reason why more haven’t left is because there really isn’t any other game today with a similar play style. This will change though more than likely later this year.

If it is even slightly more stable and fun, WvW will be a ghost town much like you see already on the new boarder land maps. At this point in time there isn’t anything I don’t think they can do to make it better.

You don’t have to record 24/7, there is magical stuff like shadowplay and gvr these days. I have seen many people I have reported banned and not come back. If you aren’t going to do your part, how can you complain?

You didn’t read his post? He did do his part but Anet didn’t do theirs. That’s been the norm for 3 years.

I reported someone who can fly around WvW and portal other players into towers, thieves who kill you without downed state and no combat log recorded damage, and much more. To my knowledge only 1 has ever been banned out of like 30.

Yeah that’s a good point. In YB map chat we just kinda laugh it off now “pink thief at it again” so we’ve gotten quite use to him and he’s become sorta a running joke “Dude pink thief JQs keep please” when we need something contested. I’m lately seeing commanders complaining about less and less fights. At one point we were thinking JQ and BG moved on to black desert lol I’m not sure what is going to save this game mode….

“I’ve checked the combat logs and you are a hack. I’ve reported you and sent a picture of it to anet.” That’s what i got the other day. I guess anyone that wins a outnumbered fight is a “hacker” I think there is a lot of gw2 conspiracy theorist out there that actually think that there is a lot of hackers when there’s only a very tiny amount. Most people in this thread need some actual proof so they can back up their crazy claims.

Sorry but I went overboard doing my part to remove hackers and it takes forever and hundred of reports before something is actually done.. Some of them, after months and months of reports, do get banned but come back on a different account.
