Auto Camps/Towers/Keeps upgrades killed all strategy and tactic in WvW!
Now i see only blob vs blob for bags farming…NO DEF nothing, no escort dolly, camps totally useless now!!!

We want back normal upgrade!!!! There are many people that want escort dolly, upgrade, siege, scout Towers/keeps!!!

WvW become totally CASUAL!!!! Just one thing is good…blob vs blob in EB!!!! I m really sad

Auto upgrade was a crazy Anet idea and i don t know why?

Anet plz, changes this WvW situation!!!!

I have some sympathy with the OP but I don’t want to have to spend 1g+ on an upgrade.

Nobody at Anet loves WvW like Grouch loved PvP. That’s what we need, a WvW Grouch, but taller.

If u don t want spend 1g (1 gold?? OMG…), no problem. There are many people willing to spend it for to have a good gameplay.

And when i spend 1 gold and siege and scout a tower, u can farm heavy bags

I don’t agree I prefer auto upgrades as someone who was forced to do bl defense to help my server succeed. Most people don’t know the strain this puts on lower tier servers who don’t have as many people, most bl defenders step up out of obligation not out of preference.

- Auto-upgrade timer for keeps and towers changed to Progress Per Dolly or PPD (camps can remain on a timer)
- Next upgrade is triggered by a player at no cost by talking to a Lord (again, camps can remain on auto)
- No keep start with a waypoint, after T3 keeps you can start the ultimate T4 waypoint upgrade (acessable by anyone who own the keep).

And done. Auto-upgrades without it being kittened.

With PPD the camps have definitive meaning regardless. Personally I rather like going up against more T2/T3 camps because T0/1 is woefully underequipped to handle even a single player.

But yeah sure I wouldnt complain about them being manually triggered either.

Automatic upgrading is fine as a concept, just the implementation now is pretty poor. No real reason to need to spend lots of money and/or have players sit in the keep waiting on supply to upgrade a structure.

The ignorance of Dolyak deliveries is the big problem. It should really be based on incoming supply from camps like it used to be rather than just time alone.

well it’s simple. Spend karma instead of gold and all problems are solved. Make the useless currency somewhat useful. if people don’t upgrade there’s really no point in even going to the bl’s.

WP changes were put in to favor less populated servers. The old system made strong serves significantly stronger. It certainly is a double edged sword though since WPs are what most servers fought over. I understand the reasoning of the change though as out numbered servers now have quick WP access and heavily populated servers no longer have easy access to an entire map.

Unfortunately they traded one problem for another rather than fixing an issue and creating a new incentive for fights.

I very much don’t want normal upgrade back. I got tired of spending money and over an hour of my game day just to get something even moderately upgraded only to see it destroyed by the first yolo blob that walks by in under 2 minutes.

And yet I fealt I had to because NO ONE else was doing it.

Think of it from the yak point of view.

In the past, many yaks were dumping 0 supply into a 100/100 tower with no upgrades running. That must have really annoyed the yaks… and given them no job satisfaction. Why should they risk their lives… for nothing.

Now, the yaks are seeing the towers upgrade all the time, and every yak that makes it through helps that upgrade. That’s all they ever really wanted. I think the yaks are much happier now.
