Hello all, I’m new to the game (played it for a bit and now returned to it again) and would like to try some WvW gameplay.

I tried reading up on weapons and armour used in WvW and what I understand is that we now use PvE gear in WvW. Is that correct?

So if I’m using low level green armour and weapons from PvE I will not stand any chance against players with higher level armour and weapons?

And then I also need to consider trait system, as I understand my level 20 character will not have any points in traits and characters over level 30 will be more powerful then me due to traits.

So, do I need to level up to 80 and get high level armour to be effective or are there any tricks I could use to not to be cannon fodder in WvW?

I could write out a lengthy response but I simply think “Yes” works just fine here.

But PvE gear was always used in WvW. Stick to a zerg and you should be fine. Roaming will probably not work out well for you, but you can flip camps with a buddy and contribute in that regard if you want.
