Title says it all. This is a little late to the party, I’m sure. But last week was most definitely the turning point in my WvW and GW2 enjoyment for that matter. It’s quite saddening to see yet another game changing update hamper an already tired WvW experience. The implementation of the specialisations for me at least was single handedly one of Anet’s worst mistakes in regards to WvW.

Why on earth would you think it was a good idea to make almost every class’ and build’s damage output higher, whilst removing a kitten ton of survivability? Good job on making fights the most boring thing ever and it more being like a gun draw, usually the person who gets the jump usual wins. Obviously that’s not always the case, but it now seems almost impossible to solo roam to any success.

Fights for me shouldn’t be about who is specced into more damage, but about who’s skill surpasses the other. I’m not sure how this has improved build diversity, to be honest for the last week I must of played a total of 2 hours into WvW. Believe me, I’ve tried to adapt, but it’s actually pointless, you add more survivability through changing gear, and you get just as rekt by condi spamming rats as ever. Personally, I’m done adapting for stupid decisions that hamper the veterans who actually bothered to learn the game, and reward the new people that within a month will quit because the game’s too boring.

I could forgive a lot, but with the addition to buffing conditions whilst condi thieves and mesmers will still be able to abuse stealth? That’s literally the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Before the patch, I never had problems with condi thieves or mesmers. But now they’re ridiculously over the top, slight my throat, over powered that is physically has made me hate what the game has become.

Thank you for the fun about a year ago. I appreciated the whole 5 minutes of it, you know, before you when through a series of decisions to break your game.

but if you are more skilled than your opponent, then they shouldn’t be able to hit you as often as you are currently getting hit. I mean I melted pretty quickly the first couple days after the patch, but I’ve already adjusted my build and my playstyle and I melt less often now.

Personally, I’m done adapting for stupid decisions that hamper the veterans who actually bothered to learn the game, and reward the new people that within a month will quit because the game’s too boring.

I love how every time there’s a change in the game, those not liking it pretend it favors new players. On the contrary, the current burst is really cruel to new players. You don’t have a “look behind” key bind? Dead. You don’t have the reflex to press your invuln/stun breaker in under a second? Dead. You don’t know what skills deal damage on other professions? Dead. As a veteran myself, I find roaming easy after the patch. Winning 1v3s is easy if two of them are down after the opener.

I main necro using a non-meta DS-crit build, I took a two year break and came back right before the patch (so I’m a bit rusty), and I find it easier to survive now, too.
