I was curious as to how the ruin objectives on the BL maps has been called around the various servers and groups.

Our names that we use are:

Bottom: Temple
Bottom Left: Headphones or Arena
Bottom Right: Do*chebag Point
Top Right: Tree
Top Left: Slushy (look at symbol at a 45 degree angle)

We call it “unnecessary”…

(old) Ruins
Arena
Tower
Tree
Tent

I’ve capped about 2 ruins….ever and the only time i have ever called one out by a name was when a server started trebbing inner garrison from it.

Says the thief…go play spvp if you like solo/small scale fights with other people that are specifically built and skilled up for it.

Mainly as the ruins give ZERO experience, karma, wexp or anything else the vast majority call them ‘wasted space’ or ’Anet’s attempt to get us to play spvp in wvw’. Those are the printable names.

strangely, for the ruins I’m fine with using the names, but I’ve always had the same problem as you for the towers and camps.. and I’ve resorted to the same ‘NE, SW, etc’ nomenclature.

I don’t acknowledge their existence. spvp nonsense where it clearly doesn’t belong.

strangely, for the ruins I’m fine with using the names, but I’ve always had the same problem as you for the towers and camps.. and I’ve resorted to the same ‘NE, SW, etc’ nomenclature.

I’m fine with Bay, Hills, Briar, Vale, Lake, Lowlands, since they are always those things no matter which BL your in… but the names for like, the North camps and junk? Forget it, give me a NE/N/NW or prepare to see me stare at the map for a bit.

I’ve got 4 printed maps on my desk.
Every time somebody says something like ‘Golems at Woodhaven’ I start scrabbling through them like mad.

I’ve been playing nearly a year and I still can’t remember them. (I can’t even remember which map I’m on most of the time )

If you want Karma or XP, got to Orr and grind Events.
