Big Bad Bunny – Necro – FSP [PunK]
Q:
Just a simple question, curiously looking for a variety of answers to what parts (if any) of WvW does it for you? Bare in mind we all play different and enjoy different aspects of WvW, some play for PPT some play for Fights and some play for both, but this is the part I enjoy.
For me it has to be turning the next corner to see a well known guild group infront of us (around most corners in EU silver league), you hear the words over TS “focus up”. You have that small moment of time which seems longer than what it is, when your trying to anticipate what ur opponent is about to do. They start to buff up and your thinking “this is on like donkey kong,” and as soon as I see them veil, I get this amazing rush which I know will last until the battle or myself, is at an end. Every person you down make that rush more intense, knowing your 1 more step closer to victory, banners flying everywhere getting the downed back up for more, making the battle seem to last a lot longer than it actually is.
Win or lose, I love that initial feeling of the rush you get just moments before first contact. I’m not very good with words in the form of describing something, but for those of you that may have been in this situation countless times before, will probably understand what feeling i mean, and can probably think back and picture a moment/battle when u had that feeling and remember the roar of victory and achievement over ur guilds TS channel.
Although this battle may not have involved attacking or defending a structure, if you win you Guild has achieved the most important reward you could have achieved for you Guild, achieving or preserving it’s Pride. For yourself, in addition to the pride you get the adrenalin and enjoyment in a part of the game you love (WvW). For the map and the server you play for, you have kept the enemy distracted, while other guilds do something more constructive for PPT, without the interruption of that said Guild Group. Also for the map depending on how quickly or how well you defeated them you may have demoralized them a little, with them knowing ur working that particular map, they may move to another (although i’d prefer them to stay because I enjoy the fights), lessening the threat on the particular map your playing.
Open field battles and GvG’s are by far my favorite, but I also love 3 way fights in keeps too, they do get very intense and enjoyable.
Love to upgrade towers/keep and siege em to the teeth just to make the attackers life to a HELL ( yes imma siege rat and put all my rangers mastery points in siege + might – underpowered ranger? stand in the ac rain and say that again hur hur )
I love stress of difficult odd, not impossible odds, just difficult. Where you have a rush of adrenaline and focus on the moment and nothing else. The kind of situation that you laugh and shout about it that you win or lose. It can be from a open field zerg vs zerg, it can be when i defend a keep against waves of enemies during hours, it can be when we finally break the siege barrage at SMC to fight in the middle of it against a sizeable opponent, it can be me and my friend defending a tower against a group of 10+, it can be a 1 vs 1 fight again a opponent of similar skill that last for minutes…
That’s what I love about WvW, a lot of stuff can happen and most of that happen when you play against a ennemy that don’t outnumber you and that you don’t outnumber. Ha if only WvW will make sure nobody can have 50 people against 10 in a particular map these moments would be more present.
Love seeing familiar faces day in and day out in EBG.
I love sieging and upgrading.
Playing with friends is the best part of WvW.
I love using my ranger, to kill stuff. Because people get enraged and try to get revenge all the time. And in most cases, i keep on killing them.
That and running around with Bearbow, deliberately, to lure in people so they can die to a brutal 3-shot combo
Love to upgrade towers/keep and siege em to the teeth just to make the attackers life to a HELL ( yes imma siege rat and put all my rangers mastery points in siege + might – underpowered ranger? stand in the ac rain and say that again hur hur )
could do with lots of people like you on my server lol
I like so many parts of WvW. I like playing for PPT mostly. I love zerg busting on my Necro. I like to play Thief and follow enemy zergs around reporting their location. Other parts are fun as well but those roles are the most fun for me.
I love big battles, in open field, at choke points, breaking and entering a tower or keep, or defending it to the bitter end. When all three sides come together in one spot to fight… rare… but glorious!
I love picking on the zerglings that fell behind and are trying to catch up. Free lootbags!
I love farming bg/jq… in open field fights
I truly love what WvW had the potential to be.
I truly hate what it has become.
I like the convenience of gaining access to my Bank and crafting stations free of charge by visiting WvW.
… What? XD
I love not knowing how many we’re up against, whether it be 10 or 80. That sense of anticipation followed by either mild disappointment when you outnumber them 2-1 or an adrenaline rush knowing you’re going to fight outnumbered 2-1 is amazing.
GvG isn’t really a huge thing on NA servers and many guilds play for PPT, which is fine, but that’s not for me. I prefer charging ahead knowing I’ll likely get instagibbed, but fighting on after a rally or warbanner, collecting bags or giving bags away.
I love how balanced is this game. Best balance ever.
I love how varied it is, coming from SW:TOR before GW2 and only really having 5v5 war Zones as the only real form of PvP. In WvW you get small battles, 1v1’s, massive zerg fights, fights where you’re hopelessly outnumbered and are just trying to escape to a tower or keep, or those times you’re just trying to squish a bunch of enemies as they try to escape you. Want to defend a tower? You can, want to roam for duels? You can. Zerg a BL, go for it. Hold off a force with 5-10x your numbers hitting your tower or keep while you talk to an ally guild who’s about to come up behind them, it’s a blast. We like to run out 10-15 seconds before the guild shows up and start dancing/beckoning, as they rush down with far superior numbers to our 1 or 2 groups thinking “this will be a slaughter” 6-8 groups come in behind them and just smash ‘em. It’s such a joy to just go around spiking people from that enemy zerg who just minutes ago severely outnumbered you and thought that it would be an easy take on your tower.
I also like how things can change so rapidly, one hour you’re owning the enemy BL, the next they’ve called in reinforcements and you’re barely holding a tower and camp. The strategy involved, try to hold part of an enemy BL, or give it up to retake yours, is it worthdedicating such a large force to ddistraction? Or just leave a group or two to havoc and hope they can keep the attention of enough enemies to relieve pressure in your home BL and EB.
In short I enjoy almost all of it.
@Urieldhynne Balance is a myth, get over it.
I love the variety. You just never know what’s going to happen or what’s coming next. I am so bored in PvE. Got my world completion on 1 character only because the thought of redoing all the same boring stuff again is just …. no. I don’t even mind getting my kitten kicked in WvW. I just love the options, the fights, ZvZ or small fights. Catching someone out in the open or even being caught unaware myself. It makes the game play WAY more exciting. Then there are the epic battles where you’re outnumbered but manage to win anyway by sheer determination and team work. Is there anything that can give you such a feeling of accomplishment? I think not :p
I love killing rangers especially those that use a bearbow as a lure only to find themselves falling out of their trap and into mine. Friends don’t let friends play rangers in WvW. ;]

You don’t understand nothing. BEST BALANCE EVA! the stealth, the clones, the ability to get out of combat with 2 buttons, the conditions, the great balanced builds with perma something and all-in-one capabilities.
Best balance ever. Too much balanced for arenas or duels. Too much.
It mixes cooperative team play vs real human opponents.
Your opponents vary greatly in skill and the team that pulls off the greatest coordination and smarter playstyle wins 4 out of 5 times (in an even fight).
I love how PPT and the matches are so balanced and close, and that skill (not coverage) equates to winning.
i love how people are so polite they leave party before loging off
when there is actually a 3 v3 battle for a tower which is very rare even on high pop servers.

I love 3 way battles too. Lots of great answers, and so many different things that people enjoy about it, and regardless of the loot/wxp/exp or karma, after you have just been portal bombed by an enemy group that clearly outnumbers you, and you still walk away the victor it puts a big grin on your face, since its an area of the game that that’s fueled by spontaneous decisions and uncertain outcomes, where each day is different to the next. But I do miss Season 1 soooo much lol, it gave me that little extra to play for, it made some of us guild groups care about PPT a little bit more
I love that it’s essentially an open world PvP sandbox where anything goes. It’s fun to make up random builds that couldn’t exist in sPvP and test them against the herds.
