The World Fall Tournament 2014 announcement said that every matchup will be unique. Does this mean that you can’t fight the same server twice or that the every constellation (Server A vs Server B vs Server C) will be unique?

What I gathered is that you can face the same server again but not the same matchup again.

For eg. In NA silver we already faced DB and CD together in a match. In another week we may face one of the servers again but not both of them together.

I read it as combination of teams.

So you can face the same (dominating, blobby, nightcapping) server every match if the third server is someone else each time.

YB/DB/CD will face each other again in the final week (week 4).

if they truly want the match ups to be unique they could just follow this rule i.e. for the combination of 9 servers A B C D E F G H I, the match ups will be :

week 1 : ABC, DEF, GHI
week 2 : ADG,BEH, CFI
week 3 : AFH, CEG, BDI
week 4 : A E I, BFG, CDH

They didn’t say unique did they? I thought it was “no more than twice.”

As far as Gold League is concerned, it’s almost certain that BG, JQ and TC will end up facing each other again at some point. BG and JQ have each other twice in a row now. I’m guessing next week it’ll be BG or JQ/TC/SoS or FA and TC/SoS/Mag for the final two weeks.

JQ/BG/Mag and FA/TC/SoS would be awesome but its not gonna happen.

JQ and BG will have a 1v1 fight with an extra BL to fight over.

ANet later went on to say this tournament is using the Swiss system as the last. That means, the first place server of each matchup moves up a tier and the third place server moves down a tier.

Week 1: JQ/TC/BG
Week 2: JQ/BG/SoS
Week 3: JQ/TC/BG
Week 4: JQ/BG/SoS

Whenever Anet describes WvW matchups in a single word, I can’t help but add “ly imbalanced” to the end of that word.

"Unique"ly imbalanced
"Exciting"ly imbalanced
"Intense"ly imbalanced
"Special"ly imbalanced
"New"ly imbalanced
