A zerg of bouncing, pastel-candy-colored, toddler-esque knee-cap bashing killers would be the stuff of nightmares. Especially for those who are or have been parents.

…and new to the gem store, “Race Change”, only (same price as a server transfer today)…

I think in retrospect it was the delete-and-reroll-which-took-months aspect of DAoC faction change which stabilized the populations for RvR.

When I first read about the game, I thought WvW would be RvR. I like the Idea. Could maybe give more equal matchups for EOTM. Maybe leave it with 3 sides and make up the amout of overflow-maps for each race depending on the maps needed for the race.

So the charr and asura will have the most engineers while the sylvari are left with the most rangers?

Lol. And the Norn and Char will have the most guardians and warriors.

This might have worked, if we totally ignored the fact that the races are far from equal when it comes to number of players.
The charr side for one would be extremely outnumbered more or less at all times based on the latest stats I read.

Another thing to keep in mind is that it would very much go against the whole underlying thread of the game. The races working together.

This is a little too Tea Partyish for my comfort.

With the ammount of Human Females all over, I’d think Human Team would zerg their way to victory by greatly outnumbering everyone else…

The race class mix would be interesting but Norn and Humans would roll every other race on population alone. Norn would be my top power pick since they are heavily populated by Guardians and Warriors with relatively few squishes.

I heard Norn have a lot of rangers too.

Nothing says fun like a good ol’ fashioned race war.

In all seriousness though, it would make for some interesting wvw. The borderlands could actually be distinguishable from one another and there could be some backstory incorporated into the fighting. However, heaps of work to design 5 new maps, a balancing nightmare, and somehow i feel like an all out race war is a little much for the devs who decided “runes of the pirate” was too edgy and privateer was a better fit.

If they limit the game mode to only racial skills, go for it. LOLOLOLOLOL

If the numbers were rebalanced, I’d pick Norn, because every second warrior and guardian is a Norn, and they dominate WvW.

Do the WvW race numbers reflect the PVE numbers? I see more Charr in WvW than in PVE.

Being loyal just because someone is “like you” is blatantly racist.

I never really understood the Sylvari Ranger thing. I mean I get it’s nature-y and what not but I see Elementalist and Necromancer a better fit for Sylvari’s. One having to do with nature in general and the other having to do with life and death, similar to their “cycle of dawn” and “cycle of dusk” etc. thing.

They’d have to make 6 new maps (1 home map per race, with racial terrain and features, and a 5-way Eternal Battlegrounds map).

Given after 2 years all they’ve made is a PvE farming map and labelled it a WvW map, and one small change to the borderland maps (can’t treb bay from garri), hoping for 6 new maps would take their development team 10-15 years.

Then of course, the population imbalance, the Charr would be zerged all day by humans (like Blackgate). Even if the Charr are far superior at combat, the almighty zerg will 1 over them. I suppose Charr/Norn/Sylvari/Asura could 4v1 the humans and cause #HumanTears2014.

And finally, switching to a different character which is a different race, puts you onto an entirely different team. Effectively making the idea as pointless as Edge of the Mists.

We need less Edge of the Mists and more World Versus World.
