Guild Wars 2

I was thinking of moving my EU account into Anvil Rock so i was wondering what is WvW like in Anvil Rock?

I’ll try to sum it up as best I can.

We are weak on reset because we don’t get the same PvE/fairweather players that the other servers get but we have a very strong core group that pushes all week while the other servers tend to drop off. There have been a number of times where we will be in 3rd place on monday morning and end up winning the week.

We have a commander gap in the early morning EST, from what I’ve seen the few times I have been able to get on during that time, if someone tags he will get a decent size group to follow. We just don’t have anyone to regularly do it. Our server really picks up around 11 am est and we go strong until something like 3-4 am.

Overall the community is pretty good. Weekly server meetings, TS, website, etc. We occasionally get the guild that starts to take itself too seriously but we got rid of the crappy ones that pretty much refused to work with the rest of us. We also have a crap ton of roamers and small skirmish groups that get things done. When there is a call out that something is being attacked you will see 10 small groups converge and just shred larger groups by picking away at them from all sides.

As it is right now we are pretty firmly placed in T5, we’ll likely pass up DH pretty soon and possibly get the random match ups where we are thrown into T4 for a week at a time but our morning coverage gap keeps us from being competitive in T4. Plus we tend to go out of our way looking for fights rather than PPT tryharding for first place (even our pugmanders).

Our TS is really active but the majority of the time the guilds tend to stay in their own channels. We do have commander chat set up to communicate between channels when we need to. If you hop into the LGN channel expect a lot of kitten talking and laughing at each other.

I know I probably should have tried to make things sound better to encourage more people to come but one of our strongest assets is that we never had a big bandwagon like the other servers. The majority of us started on AR, when we get new people it’s usually a few at a time. This means we are much less likely to implode like so many other servers.

Oh nice i perfer small skilled groups then mindless blobs i occasionally tag up once in a while but i am not skilled but will be willing to learn if someone experienced teaches me thank you so much for your reply i will try to transfer when i can get enough money to transfer

But out of curiosity are there any WvW guild in Anvil Rock?

The main ones are LGN, TM, LXG, ALS, BAT, Nerd…. I know I’m forgetting some… and a bunch of smaller roaming groups like DSCM and WTF.
If you need a guild when you get here just ask anyone from LGN, we have people on nearly 24/7. We have a few people that pug tag during the day and we do guild runs a few nights a week but the majority of the time you will find us roaming in the bl’s. We also have quite a few Europeans so you shouldn’t have a hard time finding a group that runs during your play hours.

No prob, they pop into our TS from time to time, they are a pretty funny group.
