What is the best server for WvW currently
Don’t be a band wagon person and go to an already stacked server that’s no fun
I am new to the game and am curious as to which server I should select. I want to join a server that has mostly pvp players because that is my focus. My question is basically is which server is the best server to join for pvp? If anyone has any input, I would greatly appreciate it.
Depends on your definition of best for pvp. Since this is WvW discussion, I’m assuming you mean the best for WvW… In my opinion I say BG, SOR, JQ, TC, DB and SOS are my preferences. If I plan on steamrolling everyone with the biggest zerg, I’ll go BG or SOR.

LOL. You know it’s going to happen right?
Yes I know but come on best doesn’t mean winning look at us on nsp facing outmanned all the time having fun never getting blownout friendly and tight community beer cookietacos and bacon
Winning server does not always mean it has the best players, that goes without saying if your familiar with wvw. However, the higher up the tiers you go, particularly t-3 and up, will have a higher concentration of wvw focused players. The down side to that is you also get more fair weather players and increased Zerg size the higher you go.
If you are looking for solo/small group roaming stay to the lower end. For larger more wvw focused guilds look toward the higher tiers.
CD→SoS→BG→ET→DB→JQ→SoS→
Mag→JQ→SoS→JQ→TC→FA→DB→FA→Mag→TC→KN
After last weeks match up I would have to say DB is the best server for some one to go to. They have some amazing guilds and they are a blast to fight. Honestly I think Agg has to be my favorite guild to fight. I’m hopping DB gets more coverage so next time we fight them its even more intense.
Zikory – Retired Thief
Zikkro – Zergling Necromancer
None of the servers can really be considered the best since WvW is an experience that is different for everyone. For me, I hated SoR when I was on there even though people considered it a good server back then. I just wasn’t on the same wave length as them because I enjoy running around, having small battles and dueling. Moving back to Sorrow’s Furnace didn’t even fix too many things, but there are certain weeks where it is everything I wanted. Honestly, Its less related to which server is the best and more of which servers that you are fighting that changes the experience. And in the game’s current form with matchmaking, there is no specific server that will guarantee that your opponents are the ones you are wishing to fight.

Join SoS. Those guys are great on field, loyal to their server, and need fresh talent. They’re also good sports.
It’s all a matter of what you are looking for, what time-zone you are in, etc.
I think you can’t go wrong with most of the T2-T4 servers. TC, DB, SoS, CD, EB (Technically T4 but moving up) are my tops (I’m SoS myself).
They are large enough to have organized group play, but small enough that individual contributions still matter.

Any of the top 6 and you should be fine. Top 9 if you don’t mind being the underdog more often.
If you’re planning on doing structured PvP as well (5v5s or 8v8s) it doesn’t matter what server you pick, it’s all regional.

this new ranking system makes this tough to answer. each server will find itself in uneven matchups for a while, so there are going to be unfun elements. I would personally recommend against the top 3 servers (SoR, blackgate and jade quarry), since you’ll face queues and will mostly be in massive zerg fights (or if paired poorly- you’ll be looking for opponents to fight).
the next 3 are a good balance IMO as are the three below. When you go to the lowest ranked servers, you’ll be one of relatively few people in a big borderland…which can be boring IMO (may as well just play pvp if you only want small population matchups).
one other thing…you may want to look into specific guilds on the servers you’re into, as they will really make a difference in your fun. Make sure theres at least one decent sized guild that suits your style – if you roleplay, or if you are a very serious competitor, or casual joker…you want a guild that works with that, and that will shape your wvw experience.

This guy has it right.

This guy has no idea what he’s doing.
If you enjoy facing off against servers who vastly outnumber and outcover you most of the week then join ET or FC.
T3 – T5 servers IMHO.
It’s also highly dependant on whether you are from EU or NA (or elsewhere), as that could potentially render half of these posts irrelevant.

SoS. We do well against servers our own size. We just havent gone up against a server our own size in three weeks. We still give good fights though.
Maizen Blue – Thief
I’m still pretty new to WvW and play on a server (Kaineng) that has had its ups and downs in ranking. I think if it’s important to you to be on server that continuously ranks high, you should pick one of the currently highest ranked ones.
Otherwise, I think you should pick based on the kind of gameplay you want. As others have pointed out, the higher-ranked servers seem to have more large-scale fights and the lower ranked servers have more opportunity for smaller groups or solo players to do something. A lot of my most fun moments in WvW are playing with one friend and spending our time taking supply camps.
Good luck!
Join the top rated server … cause once they start to give rewards to the winning server the top rated server will win most of the time.
TC. By far the best community I’ve encountered. I x-fered all over the place (back when they were free) and never found anything close. I find that most other servers tend to give up after a wipe or two, get mad at each other, etc. etc. I’ve also never seen another server go take a keep just to get some one their last vista/poi so they can make their legendary.

If you want sPvP i’d suggest Anvil Rock, but if you’re into WvWvW which is just hours of endless slaughter and good times, i’d pick the one with the best name. I chose Blackgate and it worked for me although i’d think twice before joining any high tier servers due to Que time’s being pretty annoying.
Simple answer is ET.
No wvw queue.
Always up against heavy odds, 5v20+AC is normal.
So, if you like a real challenge, join ET.
Surprised Fort Aspenwood hasn’t been mentioned at least not directly. But in all honestly I’d join SoS or FA (as my sig states I am on FA currently). Both servers I’ve been on at one point both have good communities and a mix of havok/zerg guilds/fights.
Violent Tendency [vT]
Ferguson’s Crossing Roamer
for PvP: none
for WvW: its depend, you want to steam roll everything (regardless ~ 1 hour queue) ? or you want to fight a huge zerg like spartan ? Or you want a balance match ?
Almost all best “WvW” PvP player reside in lower tier server (1 man can hold 3) >>> if they had not moved already.

If your coming to WvW for PvP, your going to be disappointed on a regular basis no matter where you go.

Lol, no, certainly not. You’re right. But guess what? Getting roflstomped two weeks in a row by servers who have 2 times more players than us isn’t exactly funny, too.
Maybe next week the luck will be on our side. But if not … I don’t know what to do?

Fight, get better.
That’s what you do no matter what the score is.
The best server for WvW currently is Vabbi.
