What is the map cap 4 EB/Alpine/Desert BL's?
On DBL it must be 10, since its always action all the time yet no one join the map!
We’ve been asking that question since the beginning of the game, you won’t get an answer for it. Best guestimates could put it around 75-100 per side.

Hello. Do you mean map capacity?
Devon Carver said this:
Without giving out specifics, there is the same number of slots available to each team of a match, per map.

Or do you mean Queue capacity, which is probably thousands?

EB WAS…. WAS 75 i know this for a fact a few years ago as on reset we stacked and done a /supplyinfo. however since then things have changed to do with servers lagging due to game changes. However, when stability was changed to stacks they reduced Alpine cap to 65 then followed saying the reduced cap by 10 again. so since then it hasnt been clear. Why i would love to get a dev to give us a straight answer to the question.
if no straight answer, then why? seems fishy we wouldnt get a answer to what should be a simple question.
I think the map caps vary and I believe they don’t stay the same. I’m not sure how they vary, but perhaps active population in that current match up effects it. Regardless, Ive seen it differ depending on time and match up.
One of the most interest things I’ve witnessed was at the point where BG opened up and received a bunch of guilds. I assume here they were well above the threshold. ANyway, what I noticed was that I had the outmanned buff on the borderlands whenever I was in a match up with BG during NA prime time even with 50 players in my squad.
Now I estimate, based off my experiences and it seemed like at this time the map cap had to be around 80 players. Yet, I’ve seen scenarios where the map cap looked to be 60 players.
So perhaps the map cap is also set by threshold that takes into account a bunch of variables. Maybe this includes match up and active population as well as server stability and what resources are able to be used. One thing to note, is that in actuality we are all on the same server, just different instances of the virtual server.

They’ve raised and lowered the caps a couple times over the years. I believe alpines also had higher caps than ebg? Going by reset night can usually see a blob of 40-50, plus smaller groups or roamers, or usually 2 big sized guilds 20-30 plus a couple small ones and roamers.

i have thought b4 that the map cap was lower for NA servers during off prime and this would make sense as a way to at least help with night capping blobs. outmanned buff is 3:1 ratio so its not hard to be outmanned with 50 of your own players on a map if the cap is 65 and the enemy both have Q’s on said map. EB map cap WAS 75, i know this for a fact as i said we stacked WP on reset, map was Q’ed, this was all planned, everyone on WP and count was 75. and they have said in the past alpine was reduced to 65 then they followed up saying they reduced it again by 10 or 15, i cant remeber 100% 10 or 15 but this was ment to be temp and i think it was temp while they tried to fix some over spill lag from PvE or something.
Still would be nice to get a run down on exactly what it is and if cap varies etc.
Hint Hint Nod Nod @ Anet.

LOL
ANet specifically does not give out specific numbers for things like this, they’ve stated that a few times before. The reason I’ve seen stated is because they don’t want players to game the system, or at least making it as hard as possible for them to do so.
So it’s been asked continually since game release, and probably even way back in Beta, but they refuse to answer.
So you’ll never get a better answer that the “More or kitten , +/- ~20, depending on which way the wind is blowing at ANet server today.”
“Understanding is a three edged sword: your side, their side, and the truth.”
“The objective is to win. The goal is to have fun.”
I don’t see a real reason to not give numbers of a map cap, even a number close to it wouldn’t be that bad to know.

Well if Anet only gives us a single number without any frame of reference, then pretty much anything is close.
Like, 1000 as map cap.
It’s closer than 5000 I think?
