Q:
Pretty straight forward question.
80’ish per side
Dont ask. Just dont. Anet will send the Quaggans in black after you. If you see what appear a blue ball in a black suit with black glasses…
Run!!!
Towards it to hug it because it’s gonna be cute as all kitten.
ANet has refused to answer this, closest you will/can get is as Aeolus said:

Doubt its that much, it used to be but they reduced the cap to counter lag. They did increase it again but I doubt it was to the original limit, its probably around 70.
I don’t even think it’s 80. A 40 person zerg floating can easily get a mostly empty map queued up; based on the map blobs I’ve seen, it’s likely in that 60-70 range.
Floats around 60
To tel the truth, i do belive each server even on the same match will have diferent limit, at least i had strange values in the past, having queued players for that map, almost all players stacked on commander and we were like 18-25 at max, plus arround 10-12 players roammign arround.
but yeah the value might flutuate between 60-80 nowadays, if is the same value for all servers?
I doubt it.

Hahaha no. I have seen 50 man zoneblobs that still manage to have 2 15-20 man guilds next to them. I have seen a confirmed 75 man zerg on a map with roamers already there (commander did /supplyinfo on EB zerg arrival). I think its about 85-90.
I think it’s variable. It’s also not the same for each side. That’s as much as we can determine, other than one side’s q might be 20 and yet 50 total on that side whilst another server is running a 70-80 man blob.
It’s probably controlled by some clever bit of programming that fails to react to big fluctuations hence why it seems one side has huge numbers whilst the other struggles.

This. I’ve witnessed a number of strange factors such as one server having a queue even though you don’t see more than 20 players across the map. I mean its always possible people are playing beach blanket bingo down south but I highly doubt it.
My theory for a long while is there is a cap across the entire map and there is an equation that gives each participating server a portion of the populace. It isn’t static.

Yup, pretty much looks like it.
Please tell me the op is not related to another wvw rework suggestion
The map cap is the same for each server. Anet has stated this explicitly.
I wouldn’t call it variable either. Anet can change it because they’ve messed with it when they were trying to fix the lag. But its not like it changes all the time.
