Q:
What is the point of outmanned anyway?
Devs seem think that if it actually gives stat boosts players will rage at people for coming onto a map, removing the outmanned buff and as a result the statistical advantage they would have had if said person didn’t zone in.

That fear is unfounded. How would they even know it wasn’t an enemy server’s players leaving the map that removed the buff?
Even so, a simple solution would be that the buff scales with how outmanned you actually are. The game is already constantly checking this, so it wouldn’t be a server burden. It would just change the calculation from “yes or no” to “how much”
It should be swapped with the bloodlust buff. They’re stupid if they think it would encourage people not to come on just so we can keep the buff. I’d rather not be outmanned at all than have the + to stats. But if we’re going to be outmanned, the stat bonus would atleast give us a fighting chance. Most people just log off or go PvE farming now when we do have the outmanned buff. No point in fighting on the losing side of 100 vs 10. Extra MF, big fracking deal. I’ll eat an omnomberry bar and go PvE farming. It will get me more than being spawn camped by the uber zerg in WvW and maybe taking a camp and killing a couple people before getting rolled over by the sea of red guys.
Yeah, i don’t understand that buff either. It doesn’t help to deal with situation at all especially when you face a server with very large population and have to defend with very few players.
In wow at least, when you were outmanned, you did extra dmg, had extra defense etc.
