What is the point playing 50vs10?
I’d like that but all I can see it doing is making people hate my server (HoD) or ET even more since we wont be able to field large numbers.
Because its an interesting challenge? I had a blast making Sea of Sorrows midnight zombie horde have a miserable time. All sorts of shenanigans like chains of Supply traps inside the keep walls, Arrow Carts ontop of the vista point at lowlands, and so on. Nothing is more hilarious then to see 60 uplevels roll up to your keep at 5 AM fully expexting to knockdown the door and then take 5 supply traps to the face, and get killed by 3 superior AC’s when they try and DPS the door.

Well that might work once, then if they have half a brain they’ll come with omega golems and your AC is useless, so the same problem remains at the end.
Personally I would rather be the 10 then the 50, at least you have a target rich environment.
In all honesty I doubt most of the 50 actually care, if they did care why do they ball up into 50 and golem rush zones with 10 defenders? There are other options, they choose to ball up into 50.
Indeed, but most of the time they do this following the commander, because fast capturing towers and keeps gives a lot of XP/karma/gold/WvW XP.
So if you are on the 10 side, you’re likely to not be able to kill enemy players because you will be overwhelmed by their numbers everytime.
We build 10 superior ACs and ballistas at Golanta and rolled that Blobadon zerg 2 times, they didn’t come back after. Still a nice 150 kills.
Get a good guild, learn about WvW builds (not on the official forums) learn tactics and choke points and you’ll wipe that zerg. You can port all over the map with a 20 man group and a few mesmers and take down forces much much much larger than you. It is hard, requires tons of coordination and experience but it is THE single most rewarding thing in this entire game.

Personally I would rather be the 10 then the 50, at least you have a target rich environment.
In all honesty I doubt most of the 50 actually care, if they did care why do they ball up into 50 and golem rush zones with 10 defenders? There are other options, they choose to ball up into 50.
if you can manage to even down 1 of those 50 as the 10… well you sure as hell arent getting a kill.

You know what I cannot understand about being outnumbered, is when you do a suicide run into the enemy.And look back and see the other 9 players who charged with you are suddenly running away.You don’t have to pay for armour repairs so what are they afraid of?

Maybe they feel the enemy doesn’t deserve to get free loot for being brainless zombies that happen to have more numbers than the other server.
I think there should be some kind of a system that greatly rewards winning while outmanned, while there will be diminished returns if you greatly outnumber the enemy. Fully developed this could be situational, such as checking the number of players at a certain area (tower, keep, castle) and giving each side appropriate rewards.
All in all blobbing up should be discouraged since this game has not been designed to handle it. If you could utilize all your skills without a FPS drop when two blobs meet then I would not have much of a problem with it. I don’t mind a massive scale battle, just the in-game issues that are caused by it.

50 leaves a long tail, lots to kill.
Its the same feeling when its 10 vs 2…that’s what wvw is. Unbalanced open world combat.

…if you want to prey on noobs and uplevels and are a thief, ok. but then they get to where theyre going. and suddenly you arent already inside building acs and trebs with the supply you probably dont have. and in that situation, say goodbye to your objective. and then your 9 allies lose what little hope they had, because chances are at least 3 of them are just there for fun… and you really cant defend 5v50. they auto the (reinforced) gate down faster than you can repair with supplies you dont have.

We’re roamers – nothing more than 5. Whenever we see little zerg (hopefully less than 20) still we take a try. It’s fun, it’s challanging, opportunity to learn something.
Well I agree that 10 vs 50 could be a fun challenge for a coordinated guild, but let’s be honest: when you have the outnumbered buff, the chances of seeing the 10-15 players build AC at the same time and defeat the 50 zerg is close to 0 most of the time.
