Hey,

the current state of rewards distributed in WvW is pretty bad, especially if you compare the rewards to PvE or PvP. In fact, it is more or less required to PvE to sustain a competitive WvW play with foods, utilities, guild buffs and ascended gear.

Fortunately, ArenaNet has anounced improvements to WvW rewards. While there is no current ETA on when they will come, I guess that’s still pretty good news, especially if these changes go along with other needed adjustments to WvW.

While there are threads to discuss what the most urgent fixes should do in general, I haven’t seen one that discusses what you all would like to see for the improved rewards for WvW.

What other reward improvements would you suggest?

Here are some things I would personally like to see:

1. Way more options to get all kinds of mats. Let enemy players drop random tiers of salvagable rags or metal scraps, let dolyaks aktually drop food supplies and give camp overseers, keep lords etc. a chance at some T6 fine mats. Add bloodstone dust, toxic spore samples etc.

2. Make badges of honor, proof of heroics and memory of battle valuable. Let us trade them for top tier foods and utilities (account bound, if necessary), ascended stuff, mats etc.

3. Skins. Maybe even legendary ones. And require us to actually play WvW to get them. Also, finishers.

4. Reward tracks. Many of the above things can be done through reward tracks. Repeatable reward tracks for foods and stuff necessary for guild hall upgrades, others for skins, finishers, possibily also a longer one for the commander badge.

What more can you think of?

What I want for WvW’s Reward Redesin is following stuff:

1) Constant WvW Tournaments, just like Anet is currently making constant PvP Leagues/Tournaments, so that we can constantly work on earning WvW Tournament Tokens to work on Rewards that you can get from them in form of

- Heroic Weapons
- Mistforged Weapons
- Heroic Armor Sets
- Mistforged Armor Sets
- WvW unique Miniatures
- Outdated older Finishing Moves that Anet doesn’t intend to put back into the Gemstore should become slowly earnable rewards that you can earn through WvW Tournament Tokens
(Every gemstore content should somewhen get turned into ingame rewards, because digital new gemtore content can anet produce whenever needed to always hav somethign new in the gemstore..theres no need to recycle one and the same gemstore stuff a million times, somwhen is the time ripe, where certain old gemstore thigns should finally become permanent ingame rewards to free up the gemstore and make space for new things to replace the old stuff)

Gold through WvW Reward Tracks.. players in WvW should be able to earn also Gold the same way liek PvE/PvP players can earn gold…

The silly WvW Rank System needs to get completely reworked.. lol 10000 ranks full of recycling ranks … where each rank rewards you only with junk 90% of all the times and lousy amounts of silver where you earn with PvP/ Fractals and other game content x times much more gold in the same time before you get a next rank for measly 19-25 silver.

Every RANK (also retroactively) should reward a player with at least 1 Gold!!

Means a player with say WvW rank 1000 has gotten approx already 250G, should get retroactively for this achievement of reaching that rank 750G more, but not instantly, slowly over time in a time gated way (retroactively gain 2G/Day and every begin of a month 1x 25G until youve got everything you earned so far based on your WvW Rank) to not overflood the market too much with Gold to give the economy just some needed time …

WvW needs to become through WvW Reward tracks also a gameplay mode, with that you can actively work on Ascened Equipment for your characters, that isn#t based on 100% RNG crap, but instead is based on 100% EFFORT.
So you have a 100% guaranteed way on working for your equipment, but you have to put effort into it by working on those Reward Tracks which will need more effort to complete, than the simple PvP Reward Tracks

2) WvW needs to become a rewarding gameplay Mode, that can help you at reducing the GRIND that exists in PvP for all kinds of item skins that require rare materials.
this needs to happen, so that players get a good alternative over PvE Farming, that is RNG based, but total easy, and WvW, which requires of you more effort and fighting for your stuff, by is more effective and direct in getting you your wanted RESULTS therefore, therefore that you have to play against other playrs that will do their best to defeat you so that they will it be, that will get easier these rewards and not you, thius creating a healthy competion for these rewards so that players naturally do want to give their best in WvW combat to ensure, that they get their wanted rewards through the WvW Reward Tracks..
However, this may not end up in elitism, where only those peopel with the biggest activity servers get rewarded.
Thats why other also forms of rewards need to exist for WvW, that also the losing sides of the game can earn to convert them on a slower rate into somethign that can let these players also progress in those reward tracks.. Badges of Honor comes into minde here as a universal wvw reward that you can earn at any given time regardless if you win or lose a WvW match

Example for what I would personally find very rewarding for WvW,, what woudl personally lead me to play alot more WvW instantly:

If there would be a way to earn through WvW Reward Tracks or through an overworked Rank System for example items skins to unlock for my account that I haven#t unlocked yet, so that I get whenever i earn that have the chance to unlock something, that would perhaps otherwise cost me in PvE several hundreds of gold to grind, just to get that skin…

if i could earn randonmly that skin through just playing WvW, that would make WvW alot more rewardign and would at the same moment give WvW a good reason to be played, because you could earn through it with luck sooner or ealier skins, that would be very cost expensiver for you otherwise, thus reducing for you massively the grid for gold and materials just to get a skin in this game that you want/need for example for some kind of collection achievement.

This way I could make up the decision for myself for exampe:

DO I rather want to farm gold and materials, until i can buy for example infinite Light from the TP or craft it myself….

Or do I rather want to play WvW and earn that skin through some luck with working on a WvW Rewark track that can unlock for me randomly skins, that I don’t have yet…(with the exception of gemstore stuff) which would be also a great way to reduce other grind and to give just like PvP players also WvW players a way to work on for example on Dungeon Skins…

as they are already so dead, you can also let by now WvWers let work on these skins without that they ever need to set a food into them by having a random chance of unlocking them when you complete the WvW reward Track that unlocks for your account randomly equipment skins…

Just some ideas…
Brief said, I just want to see WvW becoming rewadign enough, that it is equivalent to the other game modes, where you can earn same good amounts of gold for the time spent in it and where you also find own unique rewards, and where you can work on also on an equivalent effective straight way on high end equipnment for your characters, including ascended gear and weapons, not making just a stop at exotic.

And WvW needs to become a gameplay mode, that can help with reducing the grind of this game. its a game mode, where you need to piut into more effort, because you have to fight agaisnt other playrs in there and not battle agaisnt a stupid A.I only, thus WvW should be naturally more rewardign and more straight forward in its rewards as effective results, than the much easier and fully RNG based PvE, because having to battle agaisnt actually other players is already the balanmcing counter weight on the other side that tries to slow your progression in getting rewards down by doing their best to win self and earning self the rewards and not you …

Greatly increase Ascended items and legendary crafting supplies LOOT BAG increase for attacking and defending objectives. Slightly higher for defending objectives. Increase PPK and then double it for defending objectives as well. Stops the K train, siege humping and brings fights to objectives. Who is going to be sitting on an AC in a fight when they can get ascended items by fighting without it? Who is going to be fighting in a field refusing to come to the keep to defend it when they can get a precursor by going to the keep?

NO LOOT/ PPK/ Xp for siege damage on players.

This will only reward players for actually fighting other players and not reward afkers, siege humpers or those who ignore their objectives. Reward tracks like they have for PvP could be an extra bonus, but I think it is more important to increase direct loot bags more than anything else first, and do so strategically to improve the game mode.

Most important, you have to earn more from fighting players without siege over objectives than you get from killing NPCs, siege humping and chests or any other means in WvW.

=/ What I posted got refracted ,so hope they fix wvw. I just want a more fun and fair wvw. Like balanced servers, better way of scoring, better rewards, no laser event, small and more flat borderlands, ( friend’s idea >) leadership boards for servers like most kills, most caps, most defends etc. If outnumbered happens, better buffs for players and bosses. Death traps useable if outnumbered. ( Friend’s idea > Bounty hunting in wvw) Random objectives every 5 minutes that give enhanced rewards, smaller desert borderlands, just take out the middle part. Bring back the old bl’s for 1 week. Maybe have caps count as less if like no one is on a map to stop karma training? Just a lot needs done to make wvw fun, exciting, fresh, where you can go there and have fun fighting, instead of mindlessly trying to cap stuff to be ahead on points, that ruins the wvw spirit, especially when no one is online for the other server, if you go in a take empty structures that isn’t cool =/ Let’s just go back to fun relaxed fights =)) with skill and creativity. Do also fix siege capping, nerf siege generators a bit.

Just wanted to add an idea: The way you’re worth more WXP if you’ve been alive for a long time and killed enemies flipped camps etc. Use that to give progressively higher tier mats when you kill them. That could be fun.

"That guy has killed 5 of our defenders, flipped half the map, by this rate we’re probably going to get a bag full of t6 mats if we kill him!"

Sort of unofficial bounty system.

What I want is very, very simple.

I want 2-4 hours spent actively pursuing objectives and killing other players, to give me the exact same average loot and worthiness of it, as I get from 2-4 hours map hopping SW on weekends, or 2-4 hours map hopping AB meta events and opening all the exalted thingies.

I want that many exotics, that many rares, that many high end crafting mats, that many ascended mats, that many ascended recipes, that many mastery points applicable and useful, unique map rewards as those have them, and for any stuff I don’t end up using and throw up on the TP, I want it to be of equivalent value in gold.

That about sums it up, nicely.

Things I don’t want:
Tournaments – at least not until they can be actual tournaments instead of pre determined results.
Balance / stab changes – at least not until there are more people to play with, these are all completely pointless when there is no one to use them with or against.
WXP / honor badges – I need some real rewards instead of this crap.

One thing I would like, is for the game to be aware or better aware of player numbers involved in a battle, and scale whatever the rewards are according to that. Highest rewards should go to player groups taking out groups much larger then themselves, with additional bonus if the smaller group manages to capture or defend an objective.
