So, I think I speak for the majority of players when I say that looting in WvW could be vastly improved.

Can we get an official response to this problem? Is this something we can expect to be fixed in the near future or is there no plan to change it?

Picking up loot bags in WvW combat is problematic … I lose so many loot bags because I’m focusing on fighting and moving rather than trying to pick up loot bags.

My point: we shouldn’t be required to spam the “F” key while fighting if we want loot.

People have been making this same complaint consistently for over a month. They haven’t even hinted that it’s something they plan to address, not as far as I’m aware. Looks like loot bags (along with abysmal drop rates) are here to stay.

This is due to technical difficulties

In beta, loot used to be on enemy corpse instead of loot bag that drops on your feet.

This topic has been beaten to death since release of game

It is one of the many unintended (at least i hope so) mechanics that disproportionately reward the winner and punish the loser.

Won a battle? now you can sweep the field for all your loot. Lost it? well I hope you were paying more attention to picking up bags rather than fighting because I can assure you they will be gone if an when you ever get back there.

Thing is, this isn’t actually an easy situation to fix. You could have items deposited directly in to someone’s inventory, but what do you do when its full? The item overflow they currently have is not sufficient to deal with several hours of full bags. Having infinite overflow could also cause serious unintentional problems as well.

Possibly the best solution is to remove all drops from players other than coin and tokens which can be directly placed in your inventory.

One problem I’ve had, is loot bags despawn too quickly.

For example, when I’m working an arrow cart during a defence, often I’ll see 6 or 7 loot bags at my feet, but by the time the defence is over and it’s safe to get off the arrow cart and pick them up, most of them will of already despawned.

Personally, I think the solution to the problem is to just remove loot items from WvW and replace it with a point/currency since Badges of Honor are used the same manner anyway.

You remove loot drops and add coins and honor currency for every kill … then players will be buying gear upgrades on the trading post, thus making the economy more healthy in the process.

Unless they can make the items magically appear in my inventory/vault, I don’t see a whole lot of other options to make it any less cumbersome.

CAN WE GET AN OFFICIAL RESPONSE PLEASE?!

No way, I love diving into 20 enemies for that 1 loot bag, also seeing 15 loot bags piled up is a big morale buff.

Step 1) Give WvWvW its own currency, account-specific like karma.

Step 2) Eliminate repair costs, but make traveling to WvWvW waypoints cost currency (namely on death).

Step 3) Allow players to buy T1-6 loot bags and equipment via this currency.

Step 4) Award this currency on the fifteen minute intervals that points are calculated based on normal play. Also, make WvWvW events provide this currency instead of gold.

Done and done.
