There are a lot of issues with WvW right now, but this one seems like an easy fix. It’s been a few weeks now. You’ve had your time to do whatever needed to be done. The 64 bit client is out, and is absolutely necessary for playing WvW. Thanks for that? Works great for me. So, do the simple, and right thing, and bring reset back to Friday night so we can have our WvW weekend back, please. What’s going on with it?

yeah, didn’t they originally say it was gonna be around noon on saturday?
That wasn’t the case this week was it? Or have my days gotten jumbled?

It was originally moved to Sat night, then moved to the afternoon after people complained, then moved back to night after people complained some more.

it is very unlikely they will be revisiting the reset day move any time soon, maybe early next year. I suggest those of you who feel strongly that Friday is the better night keep queuing up WvW maps during those hours hard so ANET has some good metrics to compare to the new reset time.

Tonight is Friday the Thirteenth, so maybe go along with the murder and mayhem event theme and try to get as high of WvW turnout as possible.

Anet could have an event where the music in WvW turn into Friday 13th music and then they go around backstabbing everyone in WvW with a knife.

I am sure they want to leave the reset time for now. It really doesn’t matter with current populations. We have found it fun to do a push Friday nights sometimes.

I would also expect there to be no special events introduced for now as in general the events have been met with anger and threats.

Hopefully the next thing that is addressed is map populations, and scoring changes.

The thing is…

…a good “positive” WvW action (for a change) from the Devs would be to Re-instate Friday Night reset ASAP! IMHO this might actually help with the population issues that have been experienced in WvW since HoT’s release.

I know that switching reset back to Friday nights is NOT a fix-all solution as there are still many more severe WvW related issues presently. But I’d bet all of my Proofs of Heroics that we’d see more folks (at least on Friday and during the day on Saturday) show up if they reverted reset back to Friday nights.

For “most” WvW’ers that I know (especially our OCX and SEA brethren and sistren):

FRIDAY NIGHT Reset > Saturday (anytime) Reset

OK, starting with the simple fixes. I see y’all brought back WPs to the side keeps. That’s a great thing. Now, what’s the deal with the very simple fix of bringing back reset to Friday night, NA?

Its not as if they’re making many emergency patches now.

Why did they ever change it in the first place? During the golden age of WvW (as well as when I was the most active), it was friday and no one had a problem with that! It simply makes sense that the new WvW week begins when for most people their weekend begins.

Cause Saturday is the highest pop and then more people could experience reset and also so reset doesn’t interfere with critical patches.

The former was emphasised but the latter is clearly the reason they did it. Given the time for critical end of week patches has passed they really should move it back.

Although we did manage to get a small queue later on EBG, at reset on SoS (tier 2), like BG, there were no queues.

And right now… EBG is a ghost town. Basically for the last 3 hours, we’ve been only having roaming and havoc group skirmishes. And even those have died down in the last 30 minutes, so I just logged out.

It’s ok, but Friday is still better even if it’s not reset night…

if t1 is dead, can you imagine how it is in t5-t8?
this is a complete nightmare.

i appreciate the thought ANet did for WvW when it released new maps, but if anything, like everything they have done, it is all half-baked…
while i admire the dev who crafted the map for the very detailed aesthetics part of it, it lacks functionality. (i.e. towers are no longer taken to lay siege on a keep, they are now purely for PPT)

Also ready for Friday Nights back.

Hahahahaha no. I cant seriously believe you are buying what Anet said about patches. GW2 patches has always been done every other tuesday, leaving plenty of time until friday.

The “critical patches” they have been talking about is activation of sPvP and PvE events (which was patched in tuesday). In other words, kitten WvW we’re supposed to play sPvP and PvE friday/saturday because, well, kitten WvW.

He’s right about the Tuesday thing. Never fails. Always get kicked out of WvW during guild raid on Tuesdays.

I mean we all understood that HoT was a bigger release, there would be bugs and hell I wouldnt have blaimed them if they said no WvW that week period in order to focus on the release and let everyone enjoy the PvE/sPvP they want. A break is good every once in a while. A temporary implementation would have sufficed.

We have seen bugs on reset night, but guess what – its either been fixed pretty fast (the everyone-put-into-random-servers bug was the best reset ever, lol) OR it has been bugged for a week (like golem week).

Even now, the current state of WvW show that reset night doesnt matter for critical patches. WvW wasnt patched friday – it was patched last tuesday. And they still havent fixed blatantly obvious WvW bugs that’s been since HoT release (ignoring the rest of the sorry kitten broken state WvW is currently in). This last month prove that they dont use their saturday WvW reset for anything other than to kitten us the kitten off with a needless and pointless change.

Saturday isn’t the same, during the day or for reset. We don’t get the same turnout, and people log out a lot earlier – most have work/school on Monday.

Er HOT release and the possibility of lots of emergency patches.

The biggest problem so far with a Sat reset as opposed to Fri reset is that my server has a lot of players who don’t play Sun nights (like OCX players too!). So we’ve gone from a solid two nights worth of score to a single night score accumulation in our matches, which negatively affects our Glicko rating.

I think it is less that ppl don’t care. It is more a sign of ppl just giving up. Giving up to raise their voice and solid oppinions against this wall of silence

They should change it back to Friday Night for sure.

Yes, Friday night reset is t he best. so many guilds on my server can’t make a Saturday reset. Friday set the tone for the WvW week. I haven’t been to a single reset since the change. Neither have any of my guildies or allied guilds. Saturday reset has ruined our GW2 WvW experience.

Considering, ANet goes off of metrics… This guy got it right.

Skew the metrics in your favor. Make Friday night YOUR reset night. So that next time around they look at metrics, they will see most people play Friday nights (for some reason – I doubt they will investigate in depth… since metrics and numbers is what drives them).

Their (original) given reason for moving reset to Saturday (more people play Saturdays and so more will get to play reset) was not the actual reason for moving reset. (They all but admitted it after the outrage that ensued.

So trying to game their metrics isn’t going to do anything. And it won’t work anyway because who wants to play on the night before reset, when every match has been over for days already.

I think they were looking at how many were playing for the whole day, and not just parts of it, otherwise they would have seen that friday was the busiest night for wvw. If they were even looking at metrics anyways, they wanted to move it to saturday for other reasons.
