Q:
I’m not hugely invested in WvW, but I’d like to complete the monthly objective, which involves, what, 60 WvW kills or so? I’ve played a bit but only earned 15 kills so far. What’s the best method of racking up a lot of kills with minimal investment? Is it best to aim for your own borderlands, or enemy borderlands, or the EB? Best to defend fortifications or to assault them? What time of day is best? I would really appreciate any help you guys could offer.

Jumping on a cannon or arrow cart is by far the best way to rack up kills. If you have a group of people to play with, a team coordinating cannon fire is absolutely devestating and the badges will positively flow.
I prefer the cannons to the arrow carts for defense. While the cannons are more exposed, they also are not nearly as slow to damage targets as an arrow cart (except at extreme ranges where cannonball travel time really kicks in.)
Properly target masses and lead moving targets(groups of targets) and you’ll rack up the damage and kills in a hurry. Which all goes hand-in-hand with defending your tower/keep.
Find an unused cannon or ballista and nuke people. A well-placed siege weapon can get a ton of kills with little or no effort.
yeah this is a good way, using any kind of AOE is a good way, but it kinda seems like cheating to me lol so i try not to use it to tag poeple as such but to help the battle and push people back etc..

It’s actually 50 kills for the monthly. And you can buy your siege equipment or do the puzzles found in each borderlands and EB. This way the owner of the siege cannot kick you of if they decide to use it.
A ballista covering a choke point can sometimes be multiple kills per shot.
Thanks for the replies guys, I’ll give these a shot.
Go to a Borderlands that isn’t your own, go to Vale or Briar, sit on the walls, grab one of the siege weapons that I guarantee are there, and use it to kill the inevitable zerg that will show up.
It’s possible your side may have fortified the opposite side of the island from the tower you own, so if they have, go there, grab a ballista, and have a power trip when the zerg swarms over the bridge.

Not really thanks to retaliation.
I’m kinda sick of seeing 40 people melee’ing a door, and if I throw one grenade at them I instantly lose half my health thanks to the half a dozen players with retaliation up. Standing in a pile shouldn’t be a viable strategy…
Another good technique is to fight with a team of the same people as much as possible. You will get to know their playstyle and then you will be more effective in open team fights.
AoE is the key, had zero problems completing the deed.
