Will it be retired and be replaced with the new borderlands? If so, could we have the option to visit the old borderland, for nostalgia’s sake and remembrance, please?

That’s a cool idea. Different borderlands each week or so. It’s kinda sad thinking about it, that the old BL map will be removed completely.

I am afraid the old borderlands will be gone and with it a LOT of hard core players. The new borderland maps looks like EotM 2.0.

The thought of their ”rework” is kind of terrifying.

Please anet don’t add a bunch of stupid pve mechanics, the only rework I want to see is the removal of all the random animal npc’s and a fix for buggy spots on the map.

We already have 3 modes, 1 of which receives little to no attention, please don’t suggest adding a 4th mode for them to ignore.

I dont see why they do not rotate all the available maps, including the original old one with the lake in middle of it. maybe make it on a less frequent basis, but it sure would be nice, and its mostly already playtested etc.

It would relieve some boredom.

If they rework the old ones plz bring back the quaggans and remove the atrocity of zone caping ruins… spvp is not fun it wont be a e-sport, dont try to force us to your fetishism of caping zones spvp style.

The old borderland is ugly and lazy and is something you would expect to see
from a 20 year old game really no reason to keep it

As said above:

* Hot will remove Alpine Borderland
* Hot will add Desert Borderland (for all 3 borderland maps)
* ANet have said that they might return the Alpine Borderland later (Either for a rotation or special events etc)

Anyways, if they do fix up the map a bit, and re-add it, they will 99% certainly replace all 3 borderlands again with Alpine. So we’re either getting Desert or Alpine in one week.

I really wish the either made a third Borderland (The old quaggan version, or just use EotM map) and make 3 different maps each week.

Or even better, stop the entire "borderland" idea, and just adapt the existing maps to the same style as EotM and EBG. So we can have different maps up at the same time, without the "it must be identical because it must be fair for each server’s home map!".

This would open up for so many options down the road. (Scalable map amount adjusting, up and down depending on population and time. Huger variety of maps. The option to make different maps for different play styles like siege or roaming or sparta style combat.)

I hope the new one doesn’t have any stupid features like falling off the world like EOTM does…..
