That is so not true. Casters get hard interrupted when they get hit. The best 8 mans run at most 2 casters, most only run 1 for the CC. The aoe bomb only works on noob zergs like the one in vid vs a good 8 man it would never work.

As for what would happen in GW2 without AoE cap, we all know the answer, the servers would completely crash.

Smart enough to know thakittens pointless to talk about uncapping AoE since Anet has said again and again and again thakittens not going to happen.
What would happen? I assume the server would crash.. or combust.

Could jus roll abuncha zerk staff ele’s and spam Meteor Shower.
It gets around the “AOE cap” best, sense it drops 24 mini aoe’s all with the ability to hit 5 ppl at once. Best way to bomb stacks~
Those DAoC video’s don’t have great graphics to start, and are then uploaded in horrible yubtub quality @ _ @;.
Lets assume servers wouldnt crash and we wouldnt have any skill lag.
I bet the first precursor I get dropped in this game that Guardians would be the only class in WvW. Running in Blobs, using only heals and shouts and hope the enemy blob has more people who for forgot to turn auto-attack off.
Retaliation.
You would just have zergs with tons of aoe. It wouldn’t solve the problems that cause people to zergball up. The game still would give far more advantages to be in a larger group vs. multiple small ones.

I have long believed that damage should be capped (for DPS reasons) but control abilities should be area of effect without a cap. Turning off 50 players stacked tight would likely ease lag and make staking inherently dangerous.
As for DAoC combat in this case being superior… being chain stunned sucked.

I’m chain stunned in GW2, not in DAOC where they had pretty long immunity (except at the very start of game, when it, indeed, sucked)
Also, this stacking GW2 philosophy is totally counter-intuitive for me
You didn’t need to chain stun in DaoC, a single stun was nine seconds long and a AE mez was just under a minute.

Purge, heavy tanks aoe demezz, good resists (that can more than halve duration), mesmerisation dampening.
AE sorc mezz was actually 72s + possible 25% from items, but there were so many counters
Nightmare was introduced mostly by bringing new classes with expansions (greed to sell as many without much care for impact on game)
There were plenty of ways to get out of Stun/Mez in DAOC, If you got caught like the Kzar zergs its because you were stacking and moving together and didn’t spread out when inc was called.
Which is how it should be, in this game when inc is called, people ball up in a huge stack….That should tell you something is really wrong with the game mechanics.
As for removing AOE cap, they’d have to remove Retal also, otherwise anyone who aoe’d a zerg would just instantly die.
Also for the people who talk about Melee being useless in DAOC during zerging, Not entirely true, like all games he who was pushing was usually winning in zerg fights, And you needed melee for that. Melee classes in that game also didn’t have sweep attacks like this game, So Melee would still be far better in this game.
Closest comparison would be requiring of the Knight of the Blazing Sun in DAOC in Order groups for Bombing Zergs.
Also who says you can’t chain stun in this game? Cause you most certainly can be chain CCed if you don’t have stability (Which existed in some forms in DAOC as well)
I have a Ranger Dazer build I run that can keep you CCed for 12 seconds if you don’t have any form of Stun Break.
