What would you pay real $£€ for?
Expansion were they also expand WvWvW, not sure how to do that then all will have to buy expansion to play WvWvW.
I would pay a sub to this game if they put in three things:
1. Map variety, so we aren’t doing the same things every… single…. week. Everybody knows where to place siege in what spot for every situation…. it’s getting boring.
2. Some way to make the matchups more competitive on a week to week basis as is already being discussed in the Anet thread – we’ll see where that goes. Without this it’s hard for most servers in a lot of matchups to really care about the score as they know it’s already decided. Whether its the length of the match or how the scoring is done, I don’t care, but we’re 2 years in and we might get 1 out of the 8 matchups a week in NA that is even remotely competitive. Fighting in the field is great, but would be nice to have something to hang your hat on that feels competitive and can be noticed by all 3 servers.
3. A real GvG system with a ladder, and a way for guilds to fight anytime regardless of being matched up with the server or not. This just should have happened long ago, and is crazy sad that Anet did not pick this up and run with it in glee. Should have known what GW1 meant to a lot of fans, and found it a necessary addition post-launch. Now you have Archeage out, and the Auroria patch launching probably by the end of this month.
People are paying real $£€ for server transfers, which is why ArenaNet has an interest in keeping the status quo in WvW where nothing new is introduced so people instead transfer to a new server in order to freshen up their WvW experience.
This is why, for example, all servers in NA are back to “very high” again.

Nada, zip, not a single thing.
Why not change title to, ‘Why can’t we change GW2 to WoW’, because that’s what the OP is really saying.
This topic comes up from time to time, gets beaten to death, and eventually resurrected, usually on the pve forums, like some creature from the great beyond that just wont give up.
The GW2 business model is free to play, that is what made it different from all the other ‘pay to play’ mmos, and is still one of its major selling points, and unfortunately the devs have to step into topics like this to remind everyone of exactly that point.
Topics like this automatically assume that if you throw enough money at anything, everything will be fine and dandy. With that theory we should be living on Mars already! (Probably a bad analogy, but you get the point)
All the OP’s ‘ranting’ (his words) about ‘cheap-skate players’ wont change a single thing. But I am sure that wont stop him>>.

However the OP does have a point. There has been a serious lack of development directed toward actual gameplay. And that is due to the business model of selling useless crap on the Gem Store that doesn’t actually do anyone any good or add anything to the game.
But I do agree with you that at this point I wouldn’t spend money on anything. Because they have already lost my confidence that it will be put to any worthwhile use.
They should’ve just gone with the same business model as GW1, expansions every year. I have all the GW1 expansions and spent 7 years playing them – and still haven’t done everything there is to do. There’s no way I’m lasting anywhere close to that long in GW2. I’ve about had it after only 2 years.
I would have paid a monthly sub up until a year ago if they gave attention to WvWvW.
I did pay for a transfer once from the lowest tier to t2 but my issues weren’t quelled. These days? I have only played once in the last 3 weeks. Never again will I spend another $ on this game.
