I recall that they were supposed to change every 8 weeks, and today is 8 weeks from the last swap. But considering EU reset has come and gone with nothing new apparently that’s not the case. Anyone know when Anet will be changing server links?

I heard the 30th in map chat this week.

They change on the last Friday of every even-numbered month, so in this case yes, the 30th.

Sorry to ask, but what is going to be the use or the point of changing the servers link again? ><

If it is to fix “population” issues just forget it, population just can’t be solved in wvw … at least not this way.

Other than that, I think that some people found some other people from one of the linked servers that they are with who they enjoy playing with.

So once again what is the point of changing? =p

Linkings are changed so that players will spend gems to transfer servers.

Honestly, if they want to profit out of transfers they just have to open BG.

If you’re getting anxious about this change at 8 weeks, think of how those who are now 16+ weeks with the same link feel (sbi/gom). What genius thought that was a good idea?

At least you’re not in a server who took the short end of the stick pretty much every pairing (Darkhaven). What good it is for the pairing changes when your server will always be last on T4 regardless of the linked servers?

Watch for Darkhaven unlinked in T1. It’s about the only punishing option that we’ve not been subjected to yet.

Not looking forward to the linkings changing… well truly don’t like the linkings to begin with but since they won’t turn them off I guess there will always be a server or two getting more screwed over than the others. I’m hoping our link doesn’t change.. but because of that it probably will… :P

It means they saw my joke and thought it was funy so are redoing the linkings to get a 4 link with blackgate, jadequarry, tarnished coast and stormbluff isle or something. All the loot belong to magumma ;-(

I don’t think anet ever disambiguated what defines a full server. Whether inactive pve players are counter, joes who log in to wvw once a month, or only semi decent players who log 2x a week for a little while.

kick to the gut on this one. I know it is just one more week but I grow very tired of constantly being out manned in NA Prime.

I hope that the new links take into consideration migrant accounts that transfer servers often. I hope an increased population on a server linked to a higher tier host isn’t considered representative of that linked server.

Tl:DR some1 goofed and the work promised didn’t get done. And instead of doing the work…..they push it back a week to later. But the promise was never meant to be kept. It was likely just the same amount of time between linkings making the date happen to fall for today….but they didn’t do the work cause of holidays. And……..oh who cares

I like to see how this work out this time because population have wildly changed over the last few months. I am starting to think relinking should happen more often with the chose of going up world for a discount and going down world for free.

I’d like to see population calculations done for linking purposes only that separate out active migratory accounts from active accounts that remain for a long time on a server and then linking done with those differences considered. With the server links so far, there’s been a lot of bandwagoning by migratory accounts to low-populated linked servers that then lose those bandwagoners just as quickly as they xferred. Such xferring behavior would have also been disastrous for TylerB’s “many small shards” proposal.

It would be nice to know for sure who will be linked with who. Makes helping out the linked server(s) better.

All it would do is give a heads up as to where to bandwagon next for the next couple of months. It’d be nice to see something that shows how many people stay on the linked server as opposed to move when the link changes. It’ll never happen of course but it would be interesting to see.
