Q:
When/how often does it update placement?
Alright so, I read on numerous forums and wikis that colors switch depending on placement in your tournament; so Green takes 1st, Blue is 2nd, Red is 3rd. I play on Seafarer’s Rest, we’re dominating in our WvW , yet we’re still Blue team, and the week before we were in first place as well. I’m using this website: http://mos.millenium.org/eu/matchups/ for my info.
Going a slight bit off-topic for a sec; if you look on the right side of that website, you’ll see timer labeled “Next Reset:” Could that mean when it might possible update colors? Or is that an irrelevant thing they use for organization?
Sorry for any redundancies, it’s 6am here, and this question is killing me.
Thanks for the help in advance!

A:
Yes color changes when WvW matches are made. That’s every Friday 20:00-20:15 CEST for EU.
Color is strongly influenced by ranking, but since may 2013 it also has a small random elements. And this random element made SFR blue this week and not green. (See e.g. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/EotM-Green-is-King/4361800 for the details.)
On the 12. Sept the 3rd season starts. During the season your color is fully determined by season rank (with is different from off-seasons Glicko rank). Expect SFR to be green for the 4 weeks season following 12. September.

Thanks for the full answer, this clarified eeeeveeeryyyything!
Blackgate hasn’t been green since June 21st, and we play the same two teams every week.
I have two characters waiting for world completion.
Grumble.
BG was green the weeks of Aug 23, Jul 26, Jul 12, Jun 28, according to mos.millenium.org:

-ken
- Green means you are expected to win
- Blue means you are expected to come 2nd
- Red means you are expected to lose
This was only true when there wasn’t RNG rolls to determine matchups.

… but strangely it is still the case.
… but strangely it is still the case.
T1 EU Blue is winning, green is 2nd
T2 EU seens pretty even with Red slightly ahead, green is 2nd
T3 EU Blue is winning, red is 2nd
T4 EU Green is winning, red is 2nd
T5 EU seens pretty even with Blue slightly ahead, green is 2nd
T6 EU Blue is winning, red is 2nd
T7 EU seens pretty even with Blue slightly ahead, green is 2nd
T8 EU Green is winning, blue is 2nd
T9 EU Green is winning, blue is 2nd
T1 NA Red is winning, green is 2nd
T2 NA Green is winning, blue is 2nd
T3 NA Blue is winning, green is 2nd
T4 NA Green is winning, blue is 2nd
T5 NA Green is winning, 2nd is very close with red slightly ahead
T6 NA Green is winning, blue is 2nd
T7 NA Blue is winning, green is 2nd
T8 NA Green is winning, blue is 2nd
So, from a total of 17 tiers, we have right now only 6 following the pattern… I think it’s enough proof that it isn’t always the case as it used to be.
