According to this post from ArenaNet:

… the season ends on 5th December (which is a Thursday) rather than 6th December (Friday).

Knowing that WvW matches usually end on a Friday, can anyone from ArenaNet please confirm that the season does actually finish on Friday at the usual time?

Perhaps the forum post is a mistake due to assuming that November has 31 days?

The reset has always been on Friday, so i think you should assume it ends at the reset.

Probably just a typo. Season 1 should end at 5pm server time on Friday, 06-December.

The North American WvW matchups reset every Friday at 5:00 PM PST, 7:00 PM CST and 8:00 PM EST.

From the wiki (with a little editing) if you don’t use server time, or unaware of said server time. There’s been some confusion, but from what I can tell, it end on Thursday at reset, however logic points to Friday at reset. If you need to finish your achievements, I would recommend before the reset on Thursday, better safe then sorry.

I hope it’s Friday, since karma trains are always Friday….

It seems logical. But as I say, the official forum post from ArenaNet says that it ends on 5th December. This clarification is very important to those who are close to finishing their WvW Season 1 Meta achievement!

Someone just told me that the season will finish at 7pm GMT today (Thursday 5th December) – is this true?

I really really need an official answer from ArenaNet on this and am sure that a lot of others who are trying to do the meta achievement do too!

At the risk of sounding like a broken record… BUMP!

PS: I wouldn’t mind so much but the ‘Subscribe’ functionality on this forum has been broken since the game launched so I have to keep refreshing this page to check if an answer has been posted.

Getting a bit grumpy.

There has been no reset in EU yet, it’s a safe bet it’s a typo and the match will continue until tomorrow.
It wouldn’t make sense to reset it today anyhow.

It cannot end on the 5th since it is still possible for the rankings to change which would alter the rewards for a server. In no circumstance should chests be given out before reset.

I honestly don’t know why the season would end before reset tomorrow. It’s almost certainly a typo. I’m not entirely sure it ends tomorrow, but I’m telling people it will, because I’d rather be wrong about that, then tell them Tuesday, and be wrong about that.

Typical ANet customer support. Rest assured, they read all our concerns; they just don’t answer the ones that are 1) legitimate and 2) time-sensitive, especially if it results from an error on their part (i.e. what is likely yet another lack of attention to detail typo). Or maybe they just don’t know the answer themselves!

Logic would dictate that the season ends tomorrow at its normal time, because that’s when WvW matchups end, but unfortunately, logic cannot be relied upon. It has happened before where an event was listed as ending on a certain day, but in actuality ended at some random time the day before. I would finish it asap, simply because logic won’t offer much comfort when you miss the achievement.
