When will your top priority issues be fixed?
I hope these concerns are addressed soon. Some communication with the community would be nice.
You do know its intended that you can’t see your whole zerg and the enemies at the same time right?
You also can’t “permanently” address botting and hacking its a constant battle.
Anet is quite respectable. Asking if they are capable of telling the truth? really?
As stated above you can never permanently address botting or hacking issues. It’s an ongoing process in every online game.
Nightcapping has already been addressed. Just because you don’t like the answer doesn’t mean it wasn’t addressed.
I have not had any invisible issues lately at all. I had those 2 days when it was a known issue and then it was fixed. I am not sure why some people are still having issues.
You do know its intended that you can’t see your whole zerg and the enemies at the same time right?
Nope, I don’t. What is the reason behind this actually?
Anet is quite respectable. Asking if they are capable of telling the truth? really?
Yes, really. I don’t care if a company is respectable or not. If they go from hands on approach to a kitten off approach towards the community within 2 months time then they don’t deserve any respect at all.
As stated above you can never permanently address botting or hacking issues. It’s an ongoing process in every online game.
Yes, I am aware. Permanently address botting and hacking issues to me means that if a bot is reported then it goes banned status within an hour from the moment it’s reported. When Orb hacker is reported then it goes banned within 10 minutes from the moment it’s reported. I don’t really want to wait days to see hackers banned because within days they are capable of permanently ruining any match. Same people were flying Orbs for days even they were literally reported by 100’s of people.

Then I don’t understand why there’s singled out thread about nightcapping out there. Besides they’ve said they might address that in more significant way. I want to know if they’ve decided yet to do it.
I am not sure why some people are still having issues.
Because it’s not fixed yet. Unless that’s how this system suppose to work, meaning that you SHOULDN’T see everyone around you. If that’s the case I would like to hear that from Anet as well.

What a silly (I’d like to be more harsh here, but i won’t) statement. I’m sure they are all sitting around smoking cigars at Anet and waiting for a mega-important person like you to tell them all what to do. Is that what you think is happening? Talk about conceited, self-righteous rubbish.
I have no doubt that Anet are working as hard as they can on fixing the problems, but they have no requirement to answer to your self-indulgent post, or such rubbish from anyone else for that matter.
Why do so many whiners on these (and most other game’s forums) think they have the right to tell developers what they should be doing? While the VAST majority choose not to complain and get on with enjoying the game, there always has to be a tiny kernel of whingers who think they are more important than everyone else.
Add to that being incredibly rude to a community representative, and you think you’ll get / deserve an answer? Back under your bridge please.

Lag issues is the pretty big one.
Raze, as a customer and a person educated and experienced in public relations I have a full right to ask a company that took my money for a product what is being done about improving that product in areas which seriously lack polish. Especially, if that company decided to not inform their clients about anything they are doing with it. And even more if that approach changed from beta when they asked and listened to what community has to say. As a customer, I shouldn’t have to guess what they’re doing. Community should be informed about steps that are being taken at least weekly, of course as long as they care about that community, which right now they don’t.
And yes, being kitten upon makes me rude. They don’t have to answer, but silence will make even more people ask for their money back. Suits me. No answer means nothing will change in the areas I asked about and that also means the game stays boring and a waste of money. Being a member of a company that makes any kind of a product I would answer to such questions, because leaving it without answer means “I don’t care”. That situation already happened in a lot of MMO’s. It’s a very clear sign to the community: “nothing will change, abandon the ship”. I wouldn’t want to make such an impression, but honestly I care less and less about this game by the day. So getting an honest answer instead some dumb copy pasted politically correct messages without meaning would actually make me positively surprised.

Lag issues is the pretty big one.
You do realize that if you design a game that cannot handle the load of your own chosing then it’s pretty lame? Especially if such games were already made in the past that could handle much more people in one place then this one? Don’t you think that it would be honest to inform your customers that your product is designed that way because it cannot handle more load?
@Zireael.3285: what are these other MMOs that can handle a few hundred players with spell effects and not cause anyone lag are?
I was asking this about xcom earlier or bbc computers i dont remember. The house had the biggest icicles i had ever seen at -5. Wierd thing was previous year id been living in temperatures of -30, no icicles.
I guess the question in my mind is why ? -5, -30 ones bigger than the other, is it the country ? hours of sunlight ?, weight of snow ? years of being occupied by a foriegn country ? Worked in america once. Told a woman im glad theres an ocean between us. She don’t talk to me no more.
No idea, loved the fact though. Big icicles you don’t have to dress up warm
@Zireael.3285: what are these other MMOs that can handle a few hundred players with spell effects and not cause anyone lag are?
I didn’t say anyone. I said server won’t lag because game engine was designed to handle the pressure, not avoid it by not displaying enemies.
I don’t want this thread to change in a discussion about other games like “no, this game was lagging at x place, and that game didn’t have so many effects” so I won’t give you any specifics. You’re free to look for them yourself. There were a few with at least 2 still live and kicking today.
The point is, if you create a game with a lot of positional data that needs to be crunched by the server on the fly, then you take under consideration that only a certain amount of people can play that game in a same place without issues. If you ignore that and try to hide it behind a system that makes the game ridiculous by not displaying people around you, then you shouldn’t be selling this game at all. Of course as long as you want to be honest and respected company.
@Zireael.3285: So I can now just ignore what you have to say since
-A.) You just side-stepped the question
-B.) Decided to cherry pick “server lag” out of me saying lag.
I come from a public relations background as well, that doesn’t make me self-entitled and unaware of the issues Anet are combating. I hate people using our field as an excuse for belligerently assaulting a company. I check the dev tracker regularly and they are in constant communication with the community as much as they can be.
GW2 hasn’t invested a ton of money in community outreach, at least not as much as some other competitors… and it’s possible they just don’t have the resources yet. Daring a buy to play model is part of that.
We as the gaming community on GW2 have to be patient and look for the answers where we can. I’m not sure if anyone can have any knowledge of MMOs and expect it to be a “finished product” on launch. The whole nature of MMOs is that they are constantly evolving and changing.
Maybe you would have liked 5 years of BETA testing with a HUEG survey sample so launch would look to be your perfect game. Alas, they might as well launch the game and work on it if they are going to spend the resources on that large of a BETA testing group. At least this way, they have people buying gems, the game, etc. and giving them more resources to work on the product.

You will notice that other than putting up rank list, they have all but vacated the Wv3 forums. It’s almost like they…don’t…care.
Not suprising.
It’s buy to play game after all; with P2P they would have been held accountable.
The Top Priority to be fixed is the ranking system.
@Scorpio
Took me some time, sorry.
I don’t know about self-entitlement, I know that since I payed for the game it makes me entitled to inquire about the future of the game if the owners don’t come out themselves to talk about it. I know how much effort making a game of this magnitude takes, still it’s not an excuse to not care about the community at all, keeping people in the dark because they don’t want to talk about what they are doing. And it’s really not about investing in community outreach. It’s about wanting to talk about the game with players. They could have done that in beta, why did they stop now? It’s simple, because they don’t have anything to say. Because any not insignificant, blurry and meaningless response have an impact on the sales. There are games out there where lead game designers talk about what they work on, what people can expect in an estimated amount of time. And better yet, THEY DELIVER. Also, nobody said I want a game polished from the start. People are aware how the game creating process goes. But people want to be cared about, want to be listened to, and want to be informed what’s going on. Then they have patience and understanding. Otherwise they get angry about being ignored and leave. So before I leave and convince others to do the same, I want to ask the questions, even if I am to be ignored and ensured that nothing will change.
They are working on it and they will release a substantial patch over the next week.
Grow some patience and cultivate some knowledge into exactly what they have to combat. Your arguments are based off of ignorance and impatience. These are natural human traits and not shame-worthy unless you choose not to address them.
As of currently Anet is doing a pretty dang good job compared to MMORPG releases in general. It’s not perfect no, but it’s pretty dang good and most o the remaining problem are things that are difficult to fix and code.
At the very least you should check out what the next major update entails, but even after that I believe you would be premature in throwing a hissy fit about the current problems. They are quite simply very complex problems with no easy solutions and this will take time. Whether you choose to understand that or not is your choice and will affect your own personal enjoyment of the game. So choose wisely.
