I came back to wvw yesterday after about a 2 month break from the game, and found pretty much no one on any of the maps, especially ebg. Did everyone just leave?

Anyway that can depend on your server. Maybe you’re against a stronger server that conquer everything and there’s nothing to do unless die. That frequently kill WvW.

Playing ESO and Smite now. Sorry man. PvP in GW2 across the board is pretty much bad because it’s not supported by the devs any more. They just keep their PvP modes in life support status.

The devs only focus seems to be gem store items and raids. So outside of PvE, in my case GW2 is just not worth playing any more. So I no longer PvP or WvW in GW2 these days.

I’m pretty sure quite a few other players, are in the same state of mind as me, on this issue.

Im on CD and the last few times ive logged in, we are getting stomped zerg wise.

They could take the whole map if they wanted to but they settle for everything but the keep. Which we slowly take back and then they take back really quickly.

A few times, a person said well this isnt much fun going 5 vs 20 everytime.

Even in the WvW forum, we are not allowed to discuss match ups or the teaming of servers.

Its gotten to the point where you speak negatively about something and the devs read it and get mad but dont want to even attempt fixing WvW or PvP.

In PvP they change the set up of traits and sigils but thats not the problem with the game.

Yeah, I went to ESO and come back to GW2 when I want to PvP. The PvE on ESO is just insanely better, and if they polish out their new PvP mode, that might be the end of GW2 entirely for me. Just nothing left.

Really? I see lots in WvW every day. Not sure where and when you are playing but no matter the time of day I go in there are quite a few there in every map.

I play EU hours on NA servers so I never see full NA primetime. I’m told that while I’m asleep there are multiple map queues so definitely busy then.

I only tend to see map queues at weekends and in the late evening but I can generally find a zerg running 20+ at most times of the day, growing to 40+ in my own (EU) prime time slot.

It does depend on the match – basically, if there’s a Mag in the month so to speak, a lot of people decide to have a week off. Other than that, I would say that WvW is very far from being dead on either of the NA servers I play on.

People on this forum tend to make a big deal of it but it doesn’t seem to me to be much more than you’d expect five years into the life-cycle of an MMO and in the doldrums between expansions. Yes, it was busier a couple of years ago but what does anyone expect?

As for ESO, the “action combat” there is unplayable as far as I’m concerned so it makes little difference how much better the matchmaking might be. Also the PvE is stultifyingly dull…

I don’t play as much when I have ABL as a homeland because I just can’t do much anymore. It’s much harder to harass keeps, kill yaks, defend keeps etc. It was frustrating enough that I quit before HoT dropped and it’s only slightly better now. Should we roll red, I’ll be around more.

Just came back after a four year break.

I deleted all my existing toons because i didn’t have a clue how to play them anymore. I just decided to wipe the slate clean and start over. I rolled a Necro, big mistake really because i play solo alot so plenty of solo roaming, necro ain’t the most forgiving class for this i have come to find, anyhoo….. i rolled a thief but just can’t bring myself to go through all the PvE to get the DD skills.

It’s a real shame tbh, why they force someone to PvE so they can PvP. I’m still liking the game as it’s new to me. But i don’t think ill be around for long.

PS: WTF Anet with WvW matchmaking? My first week back was a total steam roll where the other factions didn’t even leave their forts…. not fun!
The second week (this week) we are outnumbered 10/1 on every map….. again, not fun.

PvP and WvW themselves in this game due to poor handling of professions are now just crap.

These are populations of merged servers. A vast majority, as predicted with HoT’s launch, have since left.

Yeah really, I don’t know what server or time zones these people are on, but there’s usually a zerg on every map, population is as it was a year ago. People just need to stop worrying about numbers so much and go escort dolyaks anyways.

Nikkinella.8254, well WvW is actually close to what Anet expeced to be 5years ago… a place to ktrain small population servers.
Larger server VS medium VS small

No lag QQ, since theres more ktrain than fights
No balance required due pve combat spam enforced to class and lack of balance QQ
No QQ about population ktrain since every server ktrain at diferent time, and matches pairings try to get with that in mind.

Statistically WvW is perfect…

ikr, makes you wonder if it is the same person playing on 2 accounts, one day on server A and the next on server B. ROFL
