Which class to supplement our roaming comp
The thief has great mobility
The Guardian is either support or sword/x
Tl:Dr I would suggest:
1. Warrior
2. Elementalist
3. Ranger/Thief/Engineer
4. Mesmer
5. Guardian/Necromancer
Explaination:
Warrior is highly mobile, and usually great in supporting a small roaming group.
Elementalist, has lots of combo fields. But better suited in a larger group.
R/T/E provide less group support.
Mesmer is great for portals, veil etc. But not very mobile.
You already have a Guard, and necro is quite useless for roaming.

Thank you so much for the response……… warrior still work well in zergs as well correct? (in case our whole roaming thing doesn’t work out lol)

necros, particularly condi necros are very strong roamers, especially in the current ‘condi’ meta. the condi pressure that a necro can put out is pretty stupid (see: epidemic; wellomancer; plague signet) with the support/utilities of the thief/guard it might be a nice choice. dire gear would probably work best for this particular setup.
you could probably make any toon work if you put some time and effort into the group skill dynamic.
edit: to address OP’s zerg question. the current meta is GWEN (guards, warrs, eles, necros) so any of those classes would be optimum for a move from small to large group action.
I would add a condi engineer to your comp, if you have a guardian who is dedicated to support. If you use a shout heal warrior and support guardian, you could have the condi engineer for constant pressure, and a burst DPS focused teef, mesmer or ele to completely round out your group.
Hammer warrior is an obvious choice (and would be my choice). It brings a ridiculous amount of control to your group. It also gives the thief a big set of targets to work around. It can also share some of the incoming damage with the guardian and can sit right on top of the guardian even during heavy incoming fire.
Mesmer is an interesting choice. The big advantage is that it can invis your guardian when it needs to escape or take pressure off. The problem is your group would be very light on AoE damage as the best mesmers are more single target with a bit of splash. The other problem is that if you go with a typical PU mesmer that is going to put a ton of pressure on the guardian as the thief and mesmer are kiting classes leaving the guardian shouldering most focused fire.
A 2nd guardian is also an interesting choice. Two guardians can be ridiculously difficult to bring down and if the thief is particularly glassy that would bring the offensive power. This combo lacks an AoE punch.
The ele is maybe the best choice. D/D eles are really watered down these days but still powerful and most importantly bring a lot of fields and utility to the group. The firesword elite is great for the guardian that needs to get away. The downside of the ele is the steep learning curve to make it effective.
Both the necro and engi would be fine and possibly preferred because this group as listed is going to be very light on condi pressure but I left them out since you didn’t list them in your current character list.
As noted, I would start with a hammer warrior and see how it plays. Going to be light on the conditions but may not need it.

idk why everyone is always so adverse to poundcake. it is the REEL thing after all. oh well, more cheeses for meese …
Power BM Regen Ranger. It will have mobility, it will have dueling capabilities and last, but not least, it will work flawlessly if your team can deal with its one and only real weakness – large condi bombs.

mesmer. you need 2 classes that can stealth the gp to get away from zergs and stealth rez. Mesmer also provide cover for the other 2 classes with the clones. Adding another class without stealth may be better on paper but trust me you will want the extra stealth to dodge zergs.
You won’t find a decent roaming group running a warrior, they are bad.
If you are really good at the game then pick a D/D ele. Otherwise play some condi bunker probably.

this is my advice too

Leaving out the group condi removal, group buffs, group healing, AoE control spam, super tanky, easy to play aspect… you are right warriors suck skirmishing. Even the condi warrior is a solid skirmish build. Maybe not optimal but serviceable. Your comment borders on a troll post.
In a Guardian/Thief/? line up, the thief IMO is the weak link. Thieves are great roamers but they have almost no group buffs outside of venom share which is kinda meh with a guardian. Sure they can burst someone down, but if this group runs into a condi-bunker-bomb the thief will melt too fast to matter and even if they survive the condi load the bunker aspect mitigates most thief direct damage. Condi thieves are solid and more durable but they take time to melt their opponents which leaves the guardian being heavily focused.
