Guild Wars 2

I really want to get into WvW but I’m not sure which server to go for. Any hints for a newbie?

Tier 2 OCX is dead. No skill groups left, all killed off by the SoS TF 50 man blob that runs every second night. Still roaming to be had though. Or militiablob.
Tier 3 OCX is great if you like capping SMC with rangers using skill 1 on doors.

Right now WvW in this timezone is at an all time low IMHO.

Go to FA and help fight the SoS and YB blobs. Getting bags is more fun than killing NPCs

I live in the midwest, Mainly play late at night early morning. FA for whatever reason no longer has the overnight they used to. So I moved to YB. Way more active, see lots more people playing.

But if you wanna run small groups, then FA is the server for you. I can tell you from experience, the que time for FA is HORRID during there prime time. Up to this point, the que time for YB is not as bad.

Not sure what happened to FA, lost there overnight coverage, and YB looks to be the server to beat. For now that is. Could change.

LOL, then you haven’t been on YB long enough yet. They pull longer queues during NA than FA over the weekends and have been for several weeks now.

Stormbluff Isle has a really good oceanic if you’re wanting t3. SoS/Yak’s Bend have decent ones for t2. Crystal Desert has mid sized groups for t4, but they’re more separated into guild groups.

No-one has mentioned T1 servers yet? All 3 have a good oceanic presence. Certainly sounds better than T2.

a couple questions for OP:

1. Do you want small scale fighting or large zerg fights?
2. Do you want to be on the side that’s facerolling? Or do you like being the underdog?

This will determine which server is best for you.

If you want fights come to maguuma cause with more ocx players they can wipe the pvd scrubs on sbi and get mega bags.

Full status whenever I look……

I’m on FA atm, Aussie.

Due to my job and work hours I’m generally on/venture in there after 8pm AEST between 8pm-3am and at most… It really feels quiet save for a few guilds jumping from BLs to BLs. Maybe just this week felt quieter than usual? I see people scattered sitting at spawn doing nothing when we’re getting steamrolled a bit by YB during certain hours… May as well not even bother being there if you’re gonna do nothing. Oh well.

I’ll believe it when I see it. Not because fa’s delusional Napoleon says so (not you of course).

In the end, doesn’t matter as the ‘for the fights’ go to guilds halls anyway (think this was what you were thinking in a post elsewhere).
