Guild Wars 2

One of my real life friends is getting Guild Wars 2 today, but the current server I’m on – Tarnished Coast – is full pretty much all the time. So I’ll probably be switching servers.

Me and him both are interested in doing WvW, so I’d just like to know which server would be a good pick. I’m wanting to avoid servers that lose all the time or have barely anyone playing WvW.

Yaks’. If it wasn’t for TC’s population and FA’s off-hours representation, the score would be a lot different.

NSP would love to have both of you, we are competitive with some very serious wvw guilds and also for PVE plenty of people doin dungeons…but were in one of the most competitive matches right now against Dragonbrand and darkahven now and it is extremely intense! For some nice fun light hearted exposure – pop by Darkhaven. No queues, lots of fun, and we train up people all the time (not rigimented). We have a very open server map chat with many guilds who like to help welcome newer players into the wvw realm. We like to have fun while we play – like many of the servers. Best of luck~

The one thing I should suggest to you is to find a server open and friendly who can support you guys. There is a lot of communications that go on map chat in wvw and alot can be intimidating. rather than being scared off, find a home where you can tip toe into the waters and learn the ropes (get into the swing of things). Foreign concepts go away right quick with that little bit of explanation. And I find the community at darkhaven very helpful.

On Maguuma we have a voice chat if yall use that. They’re open to suggestions if you wanna talk, or, like me, can just get on and listen to orders, it’s a lot of fun and merits a ton of Karma and silver. we have less map talking, but more fun!

And also, no que’s. All in all laid back server, content to be tier 4. Have NA, and Oceanic primetime coverage. Those are our biggest at least.

JQ, theres a lot of LFG in LA and you dont have queue in wvwvw except eternal sometimes

You can still have your friend join TC, they just have to try in the wee hours of the night.

Personally, if I wasn’t on TC I would try Yak’s Bend. They seem like fun people and they defend their Northern Borderland holdings like fanatics! Crazypeople! They’ve gone Yakkers!

Thanks for the help guys. I decided to go with Yak’s Bend. I noticed they were doing decently against TC in WvW plus their population seems to usually not be full, so I figure they should be good enough.

Any server with a strong Oceanic presence. Note some higher tier don’t have strong oceanic presence they just have one the 2 are not the same.
