I’m returning to GW2, I’m going to swap servers because I’m tired of Ferg’s being so underpopulated in WvW. I don’t want to join the top tier servers either. Wondering if anybody’s got a mid-tier server they like that neither dominates nor gets dominated very often.

I know the server matchmaking isn’t perfect and there’s ways to screw with it, like what Kaineng and Darkhaven would do, purposefully losing enough to be sent down a tier so that they would be able to have this dominate feeling while terrorizing the lower tiers with pure persistent outnumbering advantage. Their players and their commanders weren’t even good either. They didn’t have to be. They’d have enough people to keep us at bay during our peak hours, and the stuff my guild’s little group took by sneaking around out of sight. would be taken back unhindered while most of the server was asleep.

So it’s entirely possible that no servers are even within their bracket like I imagine I want. Just throwing the question out because I certainly don’t have all the information.

Bronze is in a very weird place right now, the number of guilds that are moving around/have moved around in the last month and a half is very large and the population difference between bronze and silver is very striking. Darkhaven doesn’t have the population/coverage to move into silver and I’m assuming you’re talking about this match in regards to Kaineng, which they didn’t drop to be in, but it’s rather the joys of RNG. With that being said, anywhere in silver league is fairly balanced as of the moment. You have servers that may sometimes landslide opponents, but you very often go back and forth between wins and losses so I would suggest doing some research and heading there if you’re currently unhappy with bronze, but also want to avoid the top tiers.

From looking at the leaderboards both Isle of Janthar and Stormbluff Isle look like good picks, because both of them took 3 1st places, 3 2nd places and 3 3rd places during the spring season. Now I guess it’s time to turn to both servers and see which guilds within those servers want me. (I have a level 80 Sylvari Necro currently with Exotic gears, if that matters, but I’d much prefer being able to have a casual atmosphere at least outside WvW.)

I can’t speak for Darkhaven, but I can tell you that Kaineng does not tank on purpose. We occasionally get bumped up a tier and then get completely obliterated by the likes of Darkhaven and Northern Shiverpeaks. Then, because we got killed so badly, we drop back down for a few weeks. We do well enough, and then we get bumped up again and crushed. It’s just the weird place our server is in, but I can assure you that we are not fixing the matchups in any way. I’m sorry that you feel that way,; I know server rivalry can get intense sometimes.

That being said, I have also heard that Silver is the place to go. Good luck!

Out of SBI and IoJ, IoJ could use an NA player. At this point any NA player is welcomed and needed.

If you’re looking for a Casualish WvW guild on IoJ I would suggest CORE. Their only policy is to Rep while in WvW, but arent required to WvW every nightly. You’ll likely get whispers at the beginning of their raid to come however.

SBI wise there are a ton of small guilds, but its mostly a PUG server, meaning very few guilds. No one raiding with 15-25 other then KWBH and they can run more then that sometimes.

T3 is pretty even imo.

op you better be careful. One of the T3 servers is most likely to get thrown up into Gold League and get a stomping for 4 weeks. And then they won’t be able to get out of T2 and they’ll get stomped for a few more weeks or more.

The most even servers are problably the ones at T3 and T4 (Altho T4 seen a bit loopsided atm… But YB was able to turn that around last time they faced DR).

as of now there are 5 T3ish servers – DB/YB/SbI/CD/DR , with Mags soon joining the rank although we are not sure how low Mags will fall.

so yes, T3 is the most balanced right now, if you shuffle those servers in various match ups.
