Whining about Queue? Read this
The problem with this is that above a certain size there simply aren’t enough enemies to kill.
That is not true at all. Yes if you go in zerg of 50 or 60, you wont find many enemies, but Bronze league is a paradise for small scale.
Some EU servers are medium pop.
Exactly.
I think he would say, that you brought this on yourself, by recruiting guilds to your server. That is what he is trying to say. It isn’t just about the people who transferred, but the people who were there since day 1 as well.
Partialy, but i wanted to say that queues are not only Anet’s fault.
Yes Anet gave some limits on WvW maps, but queues were too before League and those achivements. So queues are not only Anet or PvE’s fault. WvW players on those servers made their part too.
But nobody want to listen to this, it is easier to pick a target and hate him.
Even if you are on server with queues from day 1, that dont approve you to blame Anet for queues. Blame players not Anet.
There’s blame to go around.
If my hometown decides to prioritize planting pretty flowers by the streets to make them beautiful over installing traffic signals, and obnoxious drivers blow through intersections without looking, causing accidents, who deserves blame?
It’s a lot more possible for the people in charge to implement things to curb the stupidity and selfishness of people, than to expect that people en masse will start acting intelligently, nobly, and with the long-term consequences of their actions in mind.

I 100% agree when server’kitten heavy population the server should be locked with only guesting as an option so partially this is ArenaNet’s Fault. If the server itself was hard capped there would have been no guild’s transferring to server’s to create extremely long Q’s.
Anet watch’s this game very closely at time’s when responding to in game exploit’s, player’s cheating or doing anything to hinder gameplay. i am actually surprised they have not started to step in on people transferring to overpopulated server’s.
On SoS (gold, last place) I have yet to see a queue on an enemy borderland, and only seen a queue on our home borderland a few times.
I’ve been on t1 server since day 1, why would I transfer to another server?
I paid 0 gold for a bunch of bandwagoners to join my server and stack queues.

Good god man, if this was twitter I’d already be following you.
I troll because I care
Granted I am on FA, but we have queues every day now, which is not the norm according to people who have been on the server. Every map is now queued in primetime for at least 15 minutes for people in my guild. I know it doesn’t seem like much but it does impact how my guild organizes and moves out across the maps. Its not crippling per se, but it does effect our playing.
As someone who has been on FA since launch, this is how it was 6 or so months ago when FA was in T2 and trying to break into T1.
80 ~Warrior~ Delvoire | 80 ~Ele~ Azalea Avenir
80 ~ Guardian~ Rag Nor | Server ~ FA
The community screwed up, but anet has missed many chances to try to help fix the problem.
Why no incentives to move to bronze league servers? How about free transfers now, or transfers that cost WvW badges? Maybe 250 Badges to transfer, but bronze servers get major bonuses (a copy of outnumbered buff that is always on and stacks? double karma/gold/XP from WvW events?) Bronze league is the one that should be getting more rewards for winning, as well.
Also, why on earth did they call the big servers the “gold” league….talk about bad PR. Reinforcing the silly notion that they are more “hardcore” or better or serious because they zerg harder….
Why there is no information about: how many ppl are in queue. Is it really hard to implement ANET?
People whining about queues : before next week, all the supposedly PvErs people should be done with their achievements. I’m pretty sure most of them are nearly done with them (or else they are kind of bad).
By next week, the queues won’t have anything to do with the achievements and you’ll get to see if they are that shorter.
The “nose bleed” servers trying to guilt trip people back so they have someone to play with, awww. I hope it happens and I hope it gets over done and they face queues like some kind of SoS, DB, or Kaineng reborn lol.
regardless of how well or ‘correctly’ queues work, the average wait time will not change unless the amount of players goes down.
the queue per map is not going to increase.
the only resolution you’re going to get is a new map that overflows that does not count towards match points and has yet to be seen if it will be any fun.
that and the “gvg” map will potentially reduce population on the borderlands.
Besides those band-aids the only thing Anet can do is offer incentives or motivate people to destack and spread out. They should fix the queue but like I said it will NOT change the average wait time in queue except for those who know how to trick the current system.
Meanwhile all you can do is either kitten and moan or take upon yourselves to spread out. You made virtual friends once I’m sure you can figure out how to do that again.
Still I ask the question would you rather have queues on your maps, or would you rather have no night crew and during the day unable to muster the numbers to defend both EB and your BL at the same time?
One of the most thoughtless and immature posts I have read.
What about all the players in those T1 servers that have been there from the beginning—who didn’t transfer. I suppose you are just laughing at them too.

yeah but most of those transferred to T1 are financed by those already there…. so they get the share of the blame too…

Not true. I don’t think it is right to try to generalize something to excuse a bad post.
I mostly play WvW, and WvW is the only reason I play GW2.
At least for me, the main issue with the cue is that it doesn’t allow you to play the game. It doesn’t tell when you will eventually play the game..not even if you could play the game….
Pretty simple, I have been sold a game, I cannot play…and this doesn’t make me an happy customer…even if in the meantime I deforest the entire Tyria!!!!

Hey people,
for few weeks Anet was telling you that moving to T1 is not good idea.
They also made some free transfers so you can move from overpopulated servers.
Nobody cared about it that time. And it is not Anet fault. I dont see people from Bronze league whining about queues. Rarely i see people from silver league. And there are servers you moved from.
There was queue before start of the leagues. You count count with queues after start of the league, but you still moved there or stayed there. It is not Anet fault.
It is not anets fault that they offered free transfers to a “top” wvw server who had no or only very short queues (except for eb maybe)?
So we are supposed to leave our home world now because anet decided it was a good idea to make such an offer?
I wouldn’t say anything if it was me who transferred to a t1 server, but in fact it was a huge amount of people from other servers who came to my home world and anet promoted doing so by free transfers.

I would like to know if any of those servers that are complaining about queues are the same servers that paid for guild to transfer to them. If so I have no pity for them but thanks for the chuckle.
Why there is no information about: how many ppl are in queue. Is it really hard to implement ANET?
Surprisingly, yes. It’s a meaningless number because queues aren’t really queues.
Queues will be fixed as part of the new map. They will continue to operate as they have since launch until then. The queue does not function as a typical queue and we are fixing it. It will just take some time. It has been a lower priority than the other things we have done and we’ve only now been able to devote the appropriate resources to it.
It looks like you are in line, but apparently you aren’t. You’re in a pool of some sort, so knowing how many people are in with you won’t mean anything.

Servers aren’t complaining, people are complaining. Are some of us on servers where someone payed another guild to transfer? Possibly? Are the complainers the same people who did the paying? Probably not.
Um, what’s a queue?
Sincerely,
Bronze league

People aren’t whining about having to wait in a que… they are whining because the QUE SYSTEM DOESN’T WORK.
A lottery system is not a proper Que system.

we dont care. map cap wont change = average queue time wont change without wvw population drop. prioritizing wont fix kitten.
so from now on let’s not call it a queue.
let’s call it a POOL, where random people are selected to enter the borderland/eb….

I don’t care how long I have to wait. But when I que with 10 guild members at the same time I expect to have all 10 of us to get a pop around the same rough timeline.
Not one guy in 5 mins and everyone else anytime up to 2 hours. Another WvW ball that was dropped because of “lack of priority” or “lack of resources”.
So how do you address SoR, BG, and JQ players who’ve been with their respective servers (i.e. never transferred) since day one?
Oh kitten , I just broke your arrogant thread.
Arrogant? No not arrogant. Just angry.
Week ago this was full forums was full of transfer talk and recruitment.
Even if you are on server with queues from day 1, that dont approve you to blame Anet for queues. Blame players not Anet.
WvW have some limits and everybody know it. Even those guys who play from day 1.
But there was a panic that only top tiered servers will get WvW achivements and rewards, so massive recruitement topics were opened. People started to move to high population servers, even that other players with “common sense” warned them from queues. Event Anet spend a word about queues. You can blame Anet for maps with limit, but not for queues that are for the last few days.
Not that Ive complained, I just like sound arguments; So are you suggesting that Anet opening up free server transfers have nothing to do with current server stacking and queues? And that Anet have no responsibility for that? Hmmmmm.

no they are definitely whining about being in que.
I find it funny that up to the point when Leagues started everyone was blamming Anet for promoting transfers to T1 servers so they can make money off of gems. Now there are people who is saying the opposite that anet warned against it by giving free transfers.
I’m really not taking a side, but where were these arguments then? If there are fair weathered WvWers jumping on bandwagong servers there is even more fairweathered forum warriors, hiding in the dark until their time to strike.
As for longer que’s anyone who is in T1 and possibly T2 and didn’t actually expect a long que after leagues starteed are probably not bright enough to be any help in WvW anyways. I also suspect half the complainers that throws out the solution of “just increase cap limit, just upgrade hardware, just have more maps” are PvEer’s could care less about the state of WvW and just want these things to ease their process of Achievement hunting and then be on their way.
My only issue with the queue is that I’m not really in line, just in a pool of people to get in and someone that logged in and queued after me can get in before me when I’ve already been waiting.
Karma she’s a kitten ain’t she?
(the top tiers have been stacking since pre-sale, since some of you seem to have forgotten)
I was actually gobsmacked when I read that the queue isn’t even a queue thing some posts ago.
What to even heck, ANet…

Anet never said go and trasfer to T1. But Devon said that he discourage moving to stacked servers because of possible queue.
