I get Jumped on a lot, but I love to trash on the people after they do it to me. My difficulties that I run into are people who set themselves as offline instead of just accepting the msg back. I then type their username into the send mail and send them some salt along with a kindly worded msg. Anet should just bring back the ability to whisper people in wvw.

Getting salty messages is actually the reason I roam in offline/invisible mode.
You just get sick of the QQ every time. I don’t think i’ve ever sent a salty message to anyone. I just accept the loss and move on with life. My theory is: If you didn’t want to get killed by another player; don’t come to WvW.
Oh and P.S. I also keep my messages at max capacity to stop the manual mail too.

My first rage whisperer is still blocked. Now, I have received less than 20 whispers despite the fact I roam online most of the time. But, what sets this guy apart is he didn’t just whisper me, he whispered half my server. That’s not an understatement or a joke, we used to call out our whispers in map chat.

Anyway, roughly 3 years since receiving that whisper (which btw deserved a bar of soap to the mouth) and he’s still blocked even though we’re both guests now. He doesn’t solo roam anymore, but he does tombstone, not everyone mind you, just people near and dear to his heart.

I don’t understand these forums anymore. Most OP’s are like this all the time now…they are either new players or they aren’t putting any effort into explaining what they are referring to.

You have always been able to whisper until they block you. You have always been able to negate whispers by going offline.

The OP wants to easily whisper opposing players in wvw. There is nothing reasonable about that at all.

Are salt whispers really a bad thing? I mean not only can you report them, it makes good humor when you save screenshots and pass it around.

Sorta like trophies, even for someone like me that gets offended really easily.

90% of the time I always set myself to offline mode when I roam (the other 10% is when I forget). It’s not even worth the amount of uneducated accusations/salt thrown at you that you can’t even pm back because knowing them – they literally don’t care about you trying to explain why you’re not hacking or cheating or god knows what else they accused you of. Comical, sure.. but it gets stale really fast with the childish babyragers that you come across.

The worst is when someone talks mad kitten and blocks you so you can’t even defend yourself (or ask for a duel) Grow up nerds, it’s a game.

I sometimes feel like I am not performing well if I don’t get the usual salty message. I can tell you that the weekend is usually chock full of salties. I’ve never been able to lower myself to salty message but I like to screenshot and collect the ones I receive. Rarely do I reply, but sometimes it’s fun because you can turn them into a friend and have a chuckle about it later. Since the linkings it’s been funny because I’ve had blocks from before the links and you get to see how those people really are when you are paired with their server – some of them are just bad like that in behaviour, whilst others just been having a bad day and need to vent.

no easy whisper on wvw…

Sometimes i like to bring a full spirit weapon build to WvW, and people used to laugh at call noob all the time cause that would not make me win (some actually lost and had to bring after a 1vs1 arround 5-6 friends to easy win and spam noob to me).

I already got that from my allies and that is eneught, i think i can imaagine my teammates when i pop up the SW….." oh god why is this guy with me" XD

as someone who gets the occasional salty whisper i dont know how its done. I have some friends on other servers and when we are both in WvW i cant whisper them via my friends list. How do you actually do it?

Block him,than look into your block list..click on him to whisper and click unblock again.

Thanks….is there a way to whisper someone who is on a diff server but on your friends list?

A good friend of mine “collects” salty whispers. Its really funny some of the 13 year olds out there that whispers salt because they need to get better…Oddly enough the only ones I see that salt whisper are the condi cheese builds (condi Necro, condi chrono are the 2 main offenders I see…the occasional condi engi). Never really see any DPS salt whispers anymore.

Personally the only time I send whispers is when I make new WvW friends on diff servers. I down someone, let them res (if it was a good fight), while whispering them for a rm. WvW isnt as toxic as PvP for a reason you know

There are also those kind of people that like to message cos you’re the closest they can click to. One time this guy got killed and I was just walking past and he instantly messaged me with so much salt I thought I was the dead sea. Kind of hilarious as I was only passing and the people that killed him were already out of his range.

Honestly, people in this game and speaking in general, from anet to players are just too ’’carebear’’ in their little barbie world

The constant tryhard for try to keep ‘’friendly community’’ is just delusional and laughable

However not like i care if you can pm somebody or not, not like ive done it once, and if somebody pm me something stupid i would just ignore him like i do in other places or just block if he continue pming just because he doesnt have a friend to talk with

And that is how i think, and nothing will change my mind

Honestly it rarely happens to me. Once in a blue moon I will get a salty person whispering me. But most of the time it is GG good fight in the whisper.
