what rank was it?

It was from rank 78 to 79

Haven’t even had an exotic or ascended drop and Ive levelled around 160 times since its introduction (including double chests).

Try to remember to take a screenshot if it happens. I did get an ascended ring from my very first chest (somewhere in the 20’s) but nothing but greens since.

I’ve only received like 3 or 4 rares so far from rank chests… ever… No exotic+

Only a superior cata once, but that’s not really impressive lol

Rank 61 on my guardian (before the latest updates; 2 chests etc) and 70 on necro where I got 2 chests per rank between rank 30 and 60

I don’t see why we can’t have a 100% rare from that chest. PvE players get 100% rares from their world boss chests which take little to no effort (and have a pre chance). It’s literally show up, press 1, afk, come back to guaranteed rare loot. -.-

In 30 ranks (60 chests) I have received a whopping 5 rares, no exotics and no precursor. I too don’t understand why we can’t get more rares or better in wvw chests. Those 30 ranks took me about 60 hours of play time in WvW. We were told we would get a lot of ecto in wvw by Devon Carter. This simply isn’t true.

If I took the same amount of time in PvE as I’ve put into those 30 ranks in WvW, I could have a ridiculous amount of rares and better. After all, just hopping around world bosses, I can net 10 rares without even doing that much but maybe 3 hours of play time.

So PvE is 3 hours = 10 rares, WvW is 60 hours = 5 rares.

I’d be happy to just get a small percentage closer to PvE rare ability in WvW let alone hope for a precursor.

But, you never know. Precursors happen! /opens chest

Lol 10 rares in 3 hours? You get 10 rares in 30-60 minutes of PvE if you do events. Now granted its only once per day, but still. I’ve been up to 20 rares in an hours worth of eventing on good days.

And yes, that is completely kittened up compared to WvW. You should get a guaranteed yellow from the rank chest. The fact that people can get precursors from them boggles my mind, in 60+ ranks I havent even gotten a rare, let alone an exotic. Getting an exotic from opening 100 event chests is about as likely.

I know. I was just trying to make it sound harder I guess. In fairness to my number of 10 rares in 3 hours, I have ridiculously horrible timing even when trying to follow the dragon timer. I’m just not cut out for the PvE thing as I end up waiting on half hour spawn timers for a long time on each boss. Hence my worst case scenario of 10 rares in 3 hours. It is true that you can get many more in much less time, especially if I team up with a group that knows what they are doing. I have been able to get 12 in 1.5 hours, so I’ll update with that?

So, to sum up:

12 rares in 1.5 hours in PvE vs. 5 rares in 60 hours in WvW

kitten , I wish I liked PvE as much as WvW after looking at this again. I just can’t stand around for half an hour waiting for a boss to spawn when I could be helping wipe zergs and conquer towers, keeps or a castle in the same time span. /shrug

I got an exotic once , from a lvl 8 chest. So everything is possible. Even had Superior Siege BPs =D

That’s just because you where lucky enough to pick it up. Precursors actually drop all the time in WvW, its just that they are in the bags you miss. I must have gotten at least 50 or 60 Dusks by now, but I forgot to loot them.

Not sure if they nerfed the lower rank chests or if it was always like that and I just didn’t notice last time…..

Precursor? None so far……

Rank 117 atm and got:
+-10 rares
1 exotic
tons of greens
0 blue
1 omega golem
tons and tons of siege
some superior AC/ram/cata/ballista
