Better question…… Who is the best commander that HASN’T SWITCHED OFF YOUR SERVER YET?

On Sanctum of Rall, it’s Leader Mara, from EPIC…hands down. Twice, I feel, she has picked our server up off the ground during really rough patches (against Darkhaven and, recently, against Yak’s Bend) and gone on 20 and 24 hour marathons of WvW just to keep pushing the PUGs and guilds along in the same direction. Hats off to her!

There are other good leaders, some of whom are actual commanders as well (Bavragor, Xumx, Garvzhog, Alpaca Owl, Kingxcon and company) but Mara wins it hands down.

Can’t say I seen many on NSP, the ones that where good left the server just this week, so alas none for us atm :P Come to think of it, a few large guilds have bailed. Bah, chickens!

Another vote for Commander Commander Jadon on TC. He embodies everything that the players love about being on TC and the things that other servers love about playing against us. He is awesome. I’m calling dibs on Jadon should Anet ever introduce marriage into the game.

This world is lucky that many of the big historical wars were lead by men…..I’ve seen a few female commanders with devastating tactics and strategies – not going to point anyone in particular out because I’ve seen several and do not wish to exclude any. So a big shout out to the female commanders overall, I’ve yet to see a female commander that isn’t on point!! Ya’ll are dangerous!! O.o

I also want to recommend Mara as a great Commander. I’m glad to see someone pulling 24-48 marathons as often as myself when the server is losing morale due to point deficits.

(No one tell my wife, but I consumed 8 energy drinks saturday and played for 49 hours with 1 hour nap after I saw Yak’s bend came out FIERCE. Hats off to you yak’s bend, I cancelled all plans on that weekend. LOL)

I can’t remember their names, but any commander from [LOST] (I think it’s Legion of Steel, not the LOST tag guild from henge of quitravi). Zeromass might be one? Anyone form that guild has always had good ideas.

Last night Rawnoodles and ESOD[sp?] seemed very competent in borderlands.

I spend most of the time running my own crew taking camps and ganking so I haven’t worked with many of them, but JQ has an abundance of good ones.

HoD here. There is only one commander left. So yeah, he’s the best (and worst). Don’t remember his name tho.

Phantom Vincent – Helpful, strategic, and does the best he can with a small amount of forces. One of the least arrogant commanders I’ve met and likes to joke around, so he gets my vote for #1 for our server.
Phizyn – Leads the biggest zerg I’ve ever seen on here, and made me and 40 others fall to our deaths off a cliff, thats gotta count for something XD!
James Games – Says some funny stuff, seems to know what he’s doing, led a karma train around for a good hour or so.

Can’t say too much about the others, haven’t had the pleasure of working with them much. I can think of a couple of -bad- commanders, but we’re not here to do that.

I just wish the top 3 i listed there would play more often. We might actually have a fighting chance if they did, but I don’t see them on for more than a few hours a day.

I have a Different View of the word “Commander”(But whatever). But as for Sanctum of Rall, Leader Mara Deserve a Shout out. A Dedicated Person who Don’t sleep when needed just to keep up with the Score’s. Just a WoW. I Cant be like that because im working and i wont Force my Member to have a responsibility like this. Its Amaze me that there is Guild’S that is really Dedicated to the server. Much Respect to Them and i hope their Head wont make any bigger. I can maybe slice all the commanders head in to 3 pieces Skill wise… But if We Talking about “Dedicated and Responsibility wise” WarFreak[WF] Bow to all Guilds and Commanders in SoR.! I bow down to all Commander in SoR. Either your good or bad but when you try to contribute to the server…. It counts. Thats all i can say TY

Rawnoodles is [ESOL] … it sounds like “ESOD” a lot on TS the way some the guys say it, though lol

For Borlis Pass:
Plok The Original[GOAT], Silva Nicholas[SBZY] and honorable mention to Daiosho[Dkz] who leads just as well as the others without the commader icon.

Yak’s Bend, I enjoy most guys who take charge and try to steer pugs in the right direction.

Subtle, Spetrix, Rheseya (spelling?), Honnor, Joebane.

These guys go an extra step to assure the equipment is deployed, the PUG mob is pointed in the right direction and aren’t afraid to spend their own coin to get things done. Thanks guys!

I know, right? A good commander that has stayed put since the start is few and far between.

After doing close to 200 levels in WvW I can honestly say I have yet to see a “good” commander in WvW. In fact some of the best things I have seen were done by chanced upon small zergs with no leader. No One has stood out as being any better than a normal usual pug zerg. Lol which Is why I am now looking for a better server.

Skly and thuggry are doing a great job on aurora glade, disspite the server dropping they are holding it up.

On SBI I believe Zaff is the best commander for the following reasons:

he leads by example – first into battle, and will not run to save his skin like a lot of other commanders.
He is also a good fighter and often survives solo until the group can catch up to him.

He communicates with pugs so you know what he intends and can therefore follow him. This is very important, and while I believe that war machine is the most polished wvw guild I run with, it is the lack of communication from commanders to pugs that limits their overall effectiveness – with notable exceptions such as Jang Gun(hope I remembered name correctly)!

If you read this Dance With Wolf pls keep up communication channels as they are greatly appreciated.

Zaff will also ensure that any tower/keep he takes is adequately fortified before moving on and will go out and escort Yaks to ensure supply.

Few commanders I have fought beside possess all of these qualities. Respect from a nord necro in another guild!

Yea Mara on Sanctum of Rall for sure…..I rack up the kills when I follow em around….

i wouldnt go by names but guild names instead from St Isle server… i’ll have to mention No Peace in the World [NopE] (i know i didnt type that guild tag right sorry, lol) they always are stationed in EB and are really doing awesome everytime. Compared to other BLs i think EB is just constant ( i meant no rest/breather AT ALL!!!) 3-way war. And to keep everyone in line, they ’re really doing great. Also, of course worthy of shout outs to Decisive Action[DA] and War Machine [WM]… there are for sure other commanders/guilds that i havent met/ played with that might be doing better or the same but for now these 3 are dominating. TY so much

Theodore Tugboat [CBC] is a great commander. While he may make some mistakes, he helps us learn from them.

The best commander is the guy who does not get us steamrolled.
So that title changes hands many times a day.

Edbert best on Northern Shiverpeaks hands down. The kid is crazy good.

On Darkhaven we have several solid commanders. Joker, Ethersin, and Yaska are all Commanders who do great jobs.

I tend to float my group or groups around Invalid or Yumm on Maguuma. Whenever we hit that threshold of population on a map they’ll tackle the back-end parallel to the offense.

For Ebay we have a few decent (x silent, jamar etc) so id guess one of them :/

On TC it’s Odinzu or Jadon. There is also a guy I respect named Aiden. He doesn’t have Odinzu’s tactical brilliance, or Jadon’ charisma, but he has balls. He gets things done, even if you do get a little bloody in the process.

As somebody that hasn’t been venturing into WvW very often, I’m really not qualified to nominate a “best.” However, I would like to say that when I have been in there, the glorious Half Naked Norn of Darkhaven has done a great job of really getting people involved—even people who might only be there to explore the map. Clear instructions + humor = good times. Plus, who can resist the smexeh norn?

Aramarth of War. or however you spell it. On SBI.
the kid speaks like 5 copy pasted lines of english, has zero defense, 1000000% offense, he runs thru anything in his path, will sacrifice every player on the map twice, doesnt mind dying or getting you killed, but by gods when he gets on a map… your color starts popping up everywhere. he focuses on something and he will have it within the hour… i saw him singlehandedly kill the claw of jormag twice with a petless ranger.

Leader Mara from SoR hands down! I am on SoR, so far I don’t know any other commander that has been so informative and detailed about there battle plans in map chat. Whenever she sets out a task it usually is successful, the only time it fails is when people do not listen. So Leader Mara hands down!

On Desolation EU I’d have to say the ones I’ve had most fun listening to and following orders from are Cyanidestar of [IRON], Nox Wrex also of [IRON] and Gray Hatheon of [LoR].

There are a number of other respectable commanders on the server though, along with a few absolute melons that you need to avoid at all costs (they usually only turn up when we’re winning though, thankfully)

Fel, Oakblade and Odinzu on TC are my favs but we have several others that are in the conversation from MF/TSL/TV/PiNK. Haven’t seen Odinzu in a couple weeks, not sure if he’s just been in a different map or different hours.

On SBI, we have quite a lot of commanders, ranging from mediocre to excellent (but even a mediocre commander is a lot better than no commander!). Some are offensive minded, some defensive minded, some are great motivators.

The one that stands out in my mind is Jang Gun[WM]:

- He was the first to consistently use a moving defense among the SBI commanders (the only other server I have ever seen use this tactic at the same extent was prime time HoD)
- He excels at flanking and using local concentration of forces
- Among the WM commanders, he is trying the hardest to bridge the language barrier
- I have seen him lead his group against an larger enemy force and win, time and again

but most importantly, running with him is incredible fun. If you start following Jang Gun’s icon, you can be sure that there will not be a minute without fighting.
