I can’t say I highly recommend it, but I absolutely love it. It suits me enormously. And in my defense, I’m not a “Mash 1” player. I have a full range of skills and I know how to use them. Even if they may be a little weak from time to time.
Strange that I haven’t seen you in WvW on NSP. I haven’t seen an Anet Tag or claim on NSP in many, many months. Do any devs that may play on NSP attempt to be a part of the server “community”? TS and such?
Some are/were in ZoS that was the dev+players guild from GW1.
Altough NSP is a pve server ^^, dont forget.

I haven’t seen a single DEV on our server in 2 years. And from our match up this week I can see why they never come to our server anymore. This current match up is proof that the DEVs truly only pay attention to a few servers and try to make them happy.
Sorry if this is so negative. But the DEVs seem to only run with the servers that are on the giving end of the beat down. We know that at least one DEV is on of the servers because we saw something claimed by ANeT. If the DEVs working on WvW want to get a true vision of how WvW is going and the problems that exist they should go to the losing servers. We would give them our TS info and invite them in. And trust me, as one of the TS admins, if any gives them kitten or treats them bad, I will have words with offender and put them in the timeout room.

Then we can have a chat about what’s being worked on for wvw and by who and what the plans are and timescales for fixing bugs, exploits and balancing and what’s being worked on and how many real player testers they are using to ensure it’s better than Deserted BL.

Joking aside McKenna, I am glad to see that there is some effort being put forth to keep the developers active in the WvW scene. However, I am curious if I could propose some alternatives to a “random server for ALL the WvW team to be on for one week for X amount of time in one timezone” since that’s kind of the vibe I got from your reply.
I would like to counter with maybe split your team in half and have 2 groups rotating about the servers to cover more places and communities. In that, they should also be encouraged to join said server’s teamspeaks/discords and talk with players or commanders. In addition, maybe we have a bit of off-hour coverage. A day on the weekend, have a team play OCX/SEA and learn more about night hours WvW. NA is popular, but OCX has gotten hurt with some of the more recent scoring changes.
I do appreciate the effort to keep tabs on WvW; we should work as players and developers to make WvW stable again.

If you see an ANet dev on your server, its because they’re normal people who play the game too when they’re not working. ANet devs don’t take sides in WvW in any official manner, they just have ingame toons, sometimes they go to WvW, sometimes they claim stuff. That’s why you’ll only see them in NA primetime, rarely on EU primetime even in EU servers, or OCX/SEA times. They’re employees at ANet who go home after a long day of work and open up GW2 to chill and some of them play WvW.
It’s all a matter of your servers. For instance, I know there’s one guy who plays on SoS pretty regularly. He’s the one who claimed Air Keep for SoS today, I believe.
There’re no representatives. No select groups. Just individuals playing a game and using the ArenaNet guild in the same way as any other guild.
You got that exactly right. A lot of us play on our own time, and we have no special “dev secret skillz” to help a team in any capacity.
Actually, Dev’s have one super secret boon. Its called “Everyone, attack me!”

Apparently, according to your same data source, all the hot devs (or HoT devs?) play in NA.
So you guys bash the devs in the forums and now they’re hot? I dont think doublebow rangers and such are exactly EU meta atm so obviously they’re playing in NA. Or maybe it has something to do with timezones.
