Has anyone else here ever wondered why there aren’t any dragons in World vs World?

Dragons feel that Thieves are way too OP in WvW. Pass.

Because I went to every server and killed them all during the one time event, btw they dropped me precursors and I’m totally rich now. Jokes on you.

Well… the idea is to fight against other servers… not fight a Dragon while the enemy is taking away all your territory.

Have you taken an upgraded Hills yet? It can really DRAG ON!

It would be rather interesting to see dragons on teams. Not as strong as the meta event dragons, but more so as a defense for keeps, or offense for picking someone off a wall. But that would take a ton of trial and error to find a decent balance.

Remember that time we fought Zhaitan over Stone Mist? Good times…

Maybe instead of giving any kind of buff, orbs of power can be used to upgrade the keep lord that holds it to legendary dragons…? :O

Even better, the orb of power should spawn in a random location on the map at the beginning of each match and cannot be brought inside towers/keeps/castle… but whichever team is holding the orb of power will not be attacked by legendary dragons. Then you have plenty of open field fights and roaming parties to prevent their team from being burned up by dragon breath.

The WvWvW area is placed in The Mists.

The Mists is an alternate universe of some sort, it contains memories and different timelines and such.

Fractal of The Mists is one example, we do different things in The Mists, like the Ascalon one where you are transformed into a Charr, that incident happend over 250 years ago.

So basically, why we are not seeing any dragons in WvWvW is because it is not any dragon timeline, or memories, or such in the WvWvW one.

The Dragons are busy crafting Ascended stuff for WvW, they’ll be here when they’ve finished.

Dragons would be the ultimate counter to the Arrowcart meta, although probably would be considered OP – and cause too many PvE keen players to fill queue times.

I’ve actually thought about this alot myself and would really love to see some kind of neutral dragon involvement in WvW, particularly in EB focused around Stonemist.

There should be some kind of shrine (much like the Quaggans in the center island on the borderlands) that has a long respawn time such as 2 hours (to promote keeping track of the timer and planning accordingly) and the dragon would react differently depending on who captured the shrine (non-SM holders vs. SM holders).

Actually if anyone played alliance battles in GW1 u could summon dragons and protection buffs, they could implement something if sort.

I’d love an Asuran Dragon as a siege weapon, it would cost 100g/10000badges and take 10000 supply to build.

I don’t know about dragons, but is it too much to ask for a kittening dinosaur or two in WvW?

Just have 1 orb in 3 parts protected by the NPC camps in Eternal Battlegrounds(have an orb champion protecting it). Make this orb only storable at SMC and worth a certain PPT. If all 3 orbs are held for over a certain length of time, a Legendary Dragon is summoned and will attack SMC to retrieve the orb. Give this dragon a higher than average loot table, because at this point, the server that’s met all the criteria has earned it. In this instance I could see Legendary Dragons working. This could add several layers of new dynamics into Eternal Battlegrounds, make holding SMC more worthwhile, and maybe add a little more “epic” to EBG.

The dragons are unable to group properly. They lack the ability to invite each other, send tells or remove offline dragons through the UI while in WvW… they can only report each other. They also lack the ability to make “private” dragon squads when they pin up. All the random dragons flock to the commander pin when the dragons try and do a guild only event and they get frustrated.

The lack of support and focus for basic functions in WvW has driven the dragons away.

Wouldn’t be cool when SM inner gate is down and we are all stacking to rush inside when, suddenly, Tequatl appear right on top of SM and cause mass fear? lol
