Why a new map now that pop. is decimated?
Isn’t this a little to late now arena net?
My experience on running private wow servers is that if you add a new expantion to a low population game you will divide even more your comunity, the players will go gvg others will go wvw and ultimatly will make both things even more empty.
Unless this is some kind of beta test for gw3 maby… i dont even know what are your intentions anymore…
Can some one help my to understand?
Sure.
Anet hopes to ‘revitalize’ WvW with these changes. As near as I can tell, this is to be accomplished by making the game mode as we play it now untenable, and forcing current veteran players to leave or adapt. Anet is instituting their vision of what WvW should be, by adding maps and associated mechanics designed to draw constant casual churn from the PVE side of the game, instead of fostering dedicated players.
They do not care if they have long term or dedicated WvW players (and in fact have stated their belief publicly that no one at all uses this as a singular primary game mode) and would instead prefer that the game mode become a rewards pinata similar to world boss train or EotM.

Historically an expansion to any MMO bring back a very large portion of previous players who stopped playing, as well as bringing in a large influx of new players. As well, the new free to play aspect is drawing players into the game who are trickling into WvW.
I don’t know @Kefro.
We didn’t communicate with arena net for so long about WvW, the only thing that they’ve communicated with us is because HoT changes, and those are just posts, not a real discussions / conversations because what ever we suggest, or say, or ask is not answered even though it’s nothing about spoiling anything what so ever.
We lost touch with them long ago, I miss quality of service from GW1, support and lead communication team there were amazing, I miss them.
HoT wont divide the WvW community too much. Most of it is PvE and the rest “free”. This isnt like your average MMO expansion, with a new tier exclusive to anything else.
Australian time 9pm AEST – all WvW maps are nearly DEAD. I think the other night there were 3 from Blackgate… The WvW restart on weekend for us is about the only exciting time for GW2… which really makes me wonder why I would buy the expansion as there is no idea how long it will keep the influx of existing players in the game.
