Q:
Why add class icons in WvW?
the surprise was too imbalanced.
head here to discuss wvw without fear of infractions
lol ye , it does make things a lot easier when you know the class you are fighting at the start.
IDK…I sorta like being able to overtly tell if that dude over yonder hill is a necro (w/o pets) vs being a mez or an ele. With us rangers, we’ve always been easily identified due to our pets being out 99.9% of the time. Sure we can stow a pet, but as soon as we take or deal damage.. POP – they come out even if they’re set to passive mode (which is bullkitten).
This change sorta levels the field a little bit for rangers and pet necros, even though we’re still identified w/o even being clicked on.
Some classes were obvious (elementalists aren’t worse off, for example) and others weren’t. Meh, I’m not gonna lose sleep over levelling of the field.
@Krypto I main ranger, never bothered me. You can tell I’m a ranger with my signets.
@styx It’s not that big of a deal, but every little step towards making this game easy mode, is going to slowly kill the game.
Also it takes away from the feel of WvW, not knowing things and having to figure them out for yourself.
Next they’re going to add where your skills won’t cast if your target is out of range.
Because the game is going full on care bear mode.
It was part of, what little remained…, fun guessing what class you were about to run up against & the fun of getting your reactions right per class.
Next patch, npcs that do the fighting for you.
Oh wait, SR….. ;p

Rocking Wizard Wars until this mess of a game is fixed…
I never really paid attention because I can tell the Mes by watching their movement but do the Mesmer clones show a Butterfly icon also?
