Q:
Why is it that only limited siege can damage walls but for some reason we cannot do any damage to them by ourselves? Aside from the fact it makes no sense since we can attack gates, siege etc but an engi with a flamethrower cant damage a wooden wall…what???
Every time you bring up real world physics in a discussion about fantasy story, God kills a Cat Girl. Please, think of the catgirls.
While it would also make a lot of sense to let burning work on doors and walls as well. It’s a gameplay decision. The developers just didn’t think it would give much value to the game to have players beat on walls with Scepters, Daggers, and Axes etc.
Still don’t think it makes any sense to let players damage doors (gameplay perspective), but if we’re going to go by what "makes sense" then everyone with an Axe is going to be really good at taking down doors. While hammer’s would be better against stone walls. And Scepters would be utterly useless in a siege.
And this would probably make a lot of people very angry, and widely been accepted as a Bad Idea.
Gw2 == Action Game
Gw2 /= Simulation Game
Doors shouldn’t have been allowed to be damaged by player skills in the first place. Only siege should damage doors/walls.
Im honestly just curious about the reasoning behind it, of course a lot of stuff in game cant be applied to real world physics/logic lol
