WvW guild upgrades (Art of War) do not work in EotM: claiming an objective doesn’t lead to any bonus being applied. But since it is possible to claim an objective for a guild, it would seem reasonable to expect that WvW upgrades apply.

What is the explanation? Is this a bug, a design choice, something else?

Most Art of War buffs are for defenses. something you hardly see in EOTM.

I wanna know too because we tried to defend a tower in EotM with my guild yesterday and our bonuses aren’t applied…

Yea, I think it’s because EOTM is a PvE map.

EotM IS NOT a PvE map. If anything it is a hybrid to teach people about siege, etc without actually being on a true WvW map.

The attitude that EotM is a PvE map is just sad.

Proof is in the pudding. You cannot upgrade structures (when is the last time you saw a reinforced gate in EOTM ‘eh), there are no yaks to run, and your guild buffs do not even apply to claimed structures/objectives… You also cannot even claim camps generators for +5… It’s almost nothing like WvW <.<

I don’t buy this last line… Even more when some of these groups start running away as soon as they hit a defended objective.

I hate to break it to you, but you DO realize ANYONE can edit a wiki right? This by NO means – means anything. Lastly, I assure you ANET did NOT write the wiki. They simply make it available to us.

It appears you’ve had an epiphany moment. You realize it’s PvE now too? We can try to turn on the light bulb above the head for all those in denial, that still call it WvW, but they’re in denial (maybe they don’t want to think of themselves as the carebears they are)…

I agree 100%. It’s clearly not WvW because in WvW there are THREE servers battling each other for a week. In this place it’s ALL servers and 3:59… Clearly PvE…

Umm, you’re not going to be allied with worlds you’re fighting against because your color in EotM is the color of your world. You might be going against people you’re also going against in WvW, but there are also others that are not a part of your matchup.

It’s not World v World. It’s Worlds vs Worlds. The intention for EotM was to be a practice ground for WvW in addition to a filler area while you’re in queue. Currently, it’s a PvE Zerg Train. Any and all PvP fights are simply loot farm events in level 80 zones. You’re killing other Risen erm… Karka errr… Players, just for their loot, not for anything else.

Worlds I was allied with or fought against last week. Also known as, some of the people on my team were on my team last week (same color) and some weren’t (different color).

Now if you don’t mind im gonna go play some W+WIWAWOFALW vs WIWAWOFALW. I need some badges to buy more siege disruptors cuz LOL

Could anyone please take the time to write a short answer? Even “bug” or “by design” would suffice, no need for lengthy explanations. Thank you!

It is not.

It is PvE, as WvW is! Or

• do you run around with PvP gear now in WvW/EotM?
• do you think WvW/EotM is competive?
• do you think WvW/EotM has any balance?
• do you think your most favored enemies in WvW/EotM namely doors and lords are player?

Both of course allow you to attack enemy player, but that’s only a minor feature

Concerning the bufs: the +5 sups is of course also very useful if you do not defend. And I remember darkly that it once worked in EotM as well.

Unfortunately or fortunately, nobody cares whether you can upgrade or not. EotM is treated as a XP/Karma/Champ train.
However, for who’s interested. It must be by design.

Because it’s called art of “war”? Karma boosters does work I believe, so it’s ok.
