Why doesn't this game render more than 30 players?
I have no such problem. I know the game can render at least 40-50 people on screen with no issues, after that I start to get some significant lag.
Its a known problem, Anet have stated as such, cba looking for the post.
Basically its a programming issue and they’re working on it.
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”

it’s a current optimization thing to keep computers from being completely cpu bound.
the issue before they added this optimization in was people with great systems couldn’t even get more than a few fps because of all the people and stuff going on.
so things like projectiles and players and such, only the ones that are most important to you are displayed, like a fireball shot at one guy may not even appear for you and you will only see the ones coming at you, same for players.

^ yes but its more than just the fact that it doesnt render them because it can’t.
its a problem with the programming itself, because many times you can die to an unrendered group, and then upon dying, the entire group becomes visible at once.
there IS a problem with it, and anet stated there was.. we just have to wait for a fix.

I prefer laghell than not seeing 50 people on the map attacking me.
Funny thing is, you can see their AoE animations.
