The map only shows the top (10?) commanders. That is, the (10?) commanders with the most people in their squad.

Joebane this is why we make great allies. I was just talking to Ragnarok about the exact same thing about an hour ago.

even ppl that dont farm at all can save 100g in a few months time

I see more commanders in Lion’s Arch then in actual WvW last couple of days.

Yes we can see your blue icon, yes we can see your name…. now turn it off just like the rest of us, and use it when its actually needed. ( which aint much )

Just give it time it will happen.

The map is good enough as is.
It’s shows where most of the fighting is and the commanders point out where the zergs are.
I really see no point in changing that.
You can see nearby friendlies and that’s enough.

Perhaps on your server. Us Yak’s lack the numbers to Zerg, we really do need to know where people are. Four people fighting a dude in te road and putting up a cross can cost me a keep.

Would rather spend the money on costumes and stand in town.

I would rather see A-net put the guild back into guild wars, were a small guild we have 15-20 players , just saved up enough for the commander title just so we can be in the same group on the battlefield. Were not bothered about the fact we had to save the 100g but we are about the fact we have to field a commander and show the blue zerg magnet to form a party of guild mates. Surely guilds should have the option to group with each other in Wv3 without this, hell the name of the game is Guild Wars! not 5 Man Party Wars.

I’m not sure how having a commander will help your particular situation. I think you are looking for a raid or extended party interface. Being or having a commander won’t help with that, but it will give you a marker on the map to follow.
