WvW has just lost me… the amount of stealth classes is just overwhelming. The rendering issues just gives them too much advantage. I don’t even know how to keep motivated to play this game anymore. I play alts, i try diff builds, but the game’s WvW mechanic is utterly ruined by the stealth/rendering aspect. I am not even talking about thieves, but i have seen one party of 5 thieves take down too many people given their advantage… of being completely untargetable. Then you take a high burst class like the memser and give them the same stealth/teleport abilities.

I refuse to jump on the bandwagon and play these two classes. The other most prevalent class is the bunker elementalist, you dont even see any other forms of that class, its just 2 daggers of escapability, cc, stun and amazing escapability.

I can’t get motivated to bring diversity to a game where the Devs seem to love three classes and kitten the rest. I can’t be the only one who is tired of game mechanics being used to break good strategy. forget it. Who gives a crap. Im just whining, and all the fanboys will just come in and flame how amazing it is, likely playing a thief, mesmer or bunker ele.

Have fun, im waiting for better. I play for WvW, but there is no reason to even play WvW. IT effects nothing, and this game is based on spvp (uh, ok, that’s REALLY boring, and repetative) or pve, which is mindnumbing after you do a dungeon once. I dont know why I even get onto wvw, you take a castle, 10 seconds later, another team takes the castle, and it just becomes a cyclical roaming zerg.

For every i quit , i don’t like ( insert part of the game ) post there are thousands if not ten’s or even hundreds of thousands that feel the same exact way but don’t care enough to post their thoughts. They just leave.

I’m going to let you in on a little secrete. The people who are frustrated with a game and voice their opinions are not the pathetic ones. Those who are of simple mind and can not see the flaws that are driving people away and killing the game are the pathetic ones. Just something to think about …

I love the game, and I actually think it is quite balanced. And I am 95% of my time in WvW. I talk a lot to other WvW regulars and they share my opinion about balance. Most people only say that they should nerf the burst damage of glasscanon thiefs because it is redicilously high.

I don’t have an ele or a thief, I play like 80% of my time warrior and 20% necro. And I love the 1on1 fights you sometimes get in WvW.

About capping castles and losing them, learn to defend. If you learn to first upgrade and place siege in a freshly capt castle instead of immediatly going to the next one, you’ll lose a lot less. I enjoy WvW more than I have enjoyed anything in a game. It is long time ago since I had so much fun in a MMO focused on group fights.

@nekos: mostly the people that are satisfied don’t post their opinion. People who aren’t content make threads complaining and go to forums. And not every game is for everyone. I never liked WoW, should they change it for me till I like it?

This is true. A happy customer is a silent one, one you never hear from. But that’s only part of the story. Unhappy customers are the most silent of all… But what do i know. I’ve only owned a small landscaping , snow removal and trucking company for 20 years.

I hate when people jump on others for voicing their “opinions” just because theirs differ.

I play thief and ill tell you that ive been throughly ( if not enjoyably) spanked by every profession. nope im not a gc nor a tanky tank tank.

The people who are frustrated are the gc’s at back of a zerg getting slayed by thiefs who excel at “coming in from the rear” ( lol check that one out lolol)

problem isnt so much with the game, but rather more so within the individal gamers. They think they should get new items weekly, attacks should only come from the front .etc.

A prime example was when i was playing battlefield 3 and got hatemail spam from a kid after i killed him. He got mad that I flanked him rather then run down a hallway from which he was spaming machine gun rounds down.

So yes i am a heartless bitter indiviual that will not cater to your emotional needs and wants.

in the meanwhile ill be enjoying my time running into enemy zergs, tearing it up …..or getting slaughtered by the mass with a viking like grin.

You bring up an amazing point. The ones who do go on the forums to post their thoughts are often ones who still care about the game. They want it to succeed and by giving their opinion I think they are hoping it helps the developers eventually make the game better.

Thought I do agree with OP. WvW needs a lot of work to be considered a respectable PvP venue. Right now its a fun hack and slash. March is supposed to be a big improvement for it, though if its not and they mess it up the damage could be very bad. Especially with The Elder scrolls online coming and their faction vs faction vs faction on a huge map idea. It could prove to be some really astonishing competition if they get it right.

Go to any game forum and youll see the same exact situtions you see here. People crying, making rage quit threads, tring to get people to quit etc. nothing new.

strange because generally all im been seeing is nerf profession x because its a counter to my profession which makes it “OP”. Its now to the point where profession x’s down skills are op….. as a small buiness owner you should know that you can not please everyone all the time.

Not everyone is fanwagon. There are plenty of people that’s pointing out the problems in this game from many different aspects and prospective.

I think the key is to have a fun objective when you play. For example my main is a necromancer. Their damage sucks and they got no damage avoidance at all. So what do I do? I set an objective to just heal and debuff enemies, and forget about damage. My healing sucks and debuffs doesn’t always work (its bugged) but I don’t care. I set a goal and I try my best to do it.

I’ve got to admit, I was considering Elder Scrolls Online, and I thought: “Wouldn’t it be nice if there were no Mesmers?”

(That and the big WvW map they are supposed to have).

I came into this game very skeptical so I’m not too disapointed by it. I am a bit sad that they strayed so far from their roots in Gw1, but it is to be expected. Honestly if it was sub game I would’ve quit long ago. But it is not, so I’m still playing. Elder scrolls online looks like it could be good, but it also looks like there is going to be a sub, so I’m not going to buy it haha.
