Why is the tier 1 total score so much higher
Are you getting that from Millenium? Those scores aren’t updated in real time. It’s possible there’s a disjoint in report times on top of the yak scores.

You also get points for capping sentry points, and because higher tiers have a lot more people, yaks will be killed and sentry points will be capped with a much higher frequency. In the lower tiers there are long periods of time where maps are a ghost town so only the point tally will increase scores.

Yak scores don’t matter much since yaks give points when they reach their destination too. Sentries, and the disparity in time is what causes it.

The previous posters are correct about the time difference. You can see tier 1 was updated less than an hour ago, tier 6 was updated 5 hours ago.
oh I see, I got the score from Millenium, I guess the update time was what’s causing it.
Edit. But 4 hour difference still don’t explain the 23k point difference, there are about 700? potential point total? thats 2.8k/hour, resulting in 11k points in about 4 hours. Tier 1 still got 10-12 k extra points.
Just doing math on top of my head.

Sentries seem to flip so often on T1 they look like blinking Christmas lights, and I have stacks of red meat thanks to unfortunate yaks. I think a significant portion of the point differential can, like others say, be connected to this.
Do quaggans count? Those poor little buggers can’t catch a break.
