So I have been playing WvW off and on since I bought the game six months ago, and it seems to me that this game mode has not changed significantly since then.

Take this tower, oh no, someone took a camp, lets go take it back. Uh oh, the tower we just took just flipped.

I am not willing to say I am bored, but it is repetitive in nature. Take a tower, maybe the zerg moves on to take another location, a camp or go for a keep. If youre lucky someone stays to upgrade the tower you just took which is fine until it gets taken in 20 minutes by another enemy zerg.

Why not incorporate some more realistic mechanics from “real” medieval warfare. How about the ability to take a tower and then raze the tower to the ground through some use of supply or coin or other means. Similarly the ability to destroy supply camps instead of just taking them over only to have them flipped 10 minutes later by 2 or 3 enemy would make things more interesting. It would open up the game mode to roving bands of players on slash and burn missions. Camps, towers etc, could be rebuilt for a set amount of supply or coin or even badges of honor.

On the supply side, why not have farms outside towers that contribute supply to the tower on a regular basis which can be pillaged or destroyed by opposing forces instead of just supply camps? Rebuilding a razed farm would require X amount of supply and or coin.

Seems to me there is so much more you could do with this mode than just running around taking towers only to have them flip 20 minutes later and wash, rinse, repeat.

Some good ideas here that if imemented right could be very entertaining, especially with the supply camps…also maybe a different factor than destroying towers but when they are captured make it so it does not fully auto repair so the team that took it will need to make sure It gets repaired or defended

There is no need for new WvW content since the people playing WvW are happy with it as it is and people not playing it because it is boring(and should be improved… maybe by adding new content) are not complaining at the forums because they don’t care and just play other stuff.

So it’s okay as it is.

If they add new stuff it probably will be some usless boring stuff to keep the players that are already playing it playing for some more months… like for example the WXP and the grind you have to do to get to the max rank.

Unless a few thousand people are at that max rank ArenaNet does not need to change something at WvW. Mabe if a few are at max rank then increase the amount of ranks lol.

I don’t know that I agree. I play WvW for an hour or two almost every night for the last five months, and I am not happy with it, nor have I completely given up on it.

I just would like to see some content that is less repetitive in nature, the current WvW gameplay just seems like the same record spinning over and over again.

I will grant you I am on the lowest server in the game right now FC, but I played on a mid tier EU server Gunnar’s Hold for several months and can’t say it was much different, except we were used to owning the map back then instead of having our butts kicked.

GW2’s engine is dated for a late 2012 released game. Game does not take advantage of multi core cpu’s, crossfire, or sli setups. I suspect all those added features will create performance issues. I’d rather Anet rewrite the engine for their next expansion…
