Why stomp and not kill
Finishers are generally more risky. They’re basically rewarding you to take chances.

zergs just aoe corpses, small groups often have to stomp. making small groups count more is a good thing.

And the servers who don’t have the buff have a sort of advantage of not having this dilemma, evening it out (even if a tiny) bit.
I disagree that it rewards small groups, especially when fighting out numbered …unless the people you are fighting are bad.

Personally I have always finished, even in a larger fight. I like the 100 % guaranteed kill. To much can happen in the time taken to dps someone to death (depending on numbers tho tbh).
I would like to see more people running quickness for finishing now though
I prefer to not stomp ever unless there are one or two enemies. No amount of points will make me change my way of gaming at the risk of putting my squad in harms way.

Why not simply make it on kill instead of forcing people to use finishers when the buff is active?

It is a “Pro Solo/Roamer/Small Group” and “Anti-Zerg” mechanic.
Zergs function most effectively when always on the move and using Cleave/AoE to down people. Stopping to Stomp either slows down the Zerg or separates the people who do stop to Stomp.
So the current implementation is a way for Roamers and Havoc Teams to contribute to the score without making the Zerg even more powerful.
Now if they had only stopped at that and not added the +50 Stat Bonus as well….

Actually, I think the exact opposite is true given the current implementation. It is a heck of a lot easier for 30 people to get stomps of when fighting 10 than it is for 10 people to get stomps off when fighting 30.
If you have a 3-to-1 advantage over your opponents of course it is easier to Stomp.
But think about in a more even fight – Zergs are already powerful “force multipliers” for their Server. They don’t really need to be generating even more Points on every kill while the Buff is held.
Anybody test out if points are still acquired if while you are mid-stomp, the enemy happens to be auto-attacked to death? I’ve had that happen to me quite often (because stopping to stomp 1 downed guy in a 2v5 battle isn’t realistic).

30 man groups don’t have a chance to stomp, you die to aoe and auto attacks before it even goes off.

Hard to stomp? Ever try 1v1? you should try it sometimes, its more fun than running around with your buddies smashing #1 on your keyboard with your face. lol
Brainless zergs spam 1 for kills. Organized skilled players stomp. It seems pretty clear to me why you need to stomp.

Forcing stomps keeps kills from absolutely dominating the points score for a week. If kills were the metric for gaining points for the buff then the worth of holding objectives would be MUCH less than it even is now.
