I must say the amount of crying the Mag players do is astounding.

Mag used to be known for tenacious undermanned fighting w/ loads of skill….I must say when Ebay met back up with them I was disappointed.

If Mag can’t zerg you down they quit……sad but true.

It didn’t start that way, we had a great first night with that guild in open field but then they started inviting some of our members to parties and calling them hackers and stuff even though we had nothing to do with the arrow cart shenanigans people were making claims about.

This is what Maguuma gets when gloating on threads of imbalanced matchups.

Mag has too many Commanders that lead us off high cliffs.

Maybe Mags and AR should get together and commiserate…. AR was stuck getting smacked in the mouth for 10-12 weeks in a row until they finally tapped out. I don’t mean to sound unsympathetic, I am, it sucks that you have had to face all the tough opponents, but recognize that you aren’t the only server to face hardship, and the old system was a lot harder on the in-between servers than this one.

Also kind of weird that mods will infract posts within minutes in all the relevant threads but ignore threads like this for days that belong in a different subforum.

Hypocrisy akittens finest. Wayyy too much Maguuma hate going on in here, and that’s from someone who has to deal with their pvf-ers every second week.
I’m quick to point out that Maguuma isn’t a bad server skill wise. Their tactics seems a little off sometimes, to each their own, but that doesn’t reflect skill. In 1v1s I lose to them a lot more often than I lost to either of the T1 servers I faced last week. They simply don’t have the coverage to handle T2 servers which is why they’re currently losing this match up.

The fact is, matchups are random. If you want to discuss your dislike of the system, feel free, but don’t take it out on Maguuma. They’re victims, as much as my server was a victim last week. Eventually the random mechanic will land them in a T4 matchup, and they’ll realize that steamrolling their opponents isn’t as fun as it sounds. A lot of DB has been going easy this week.

Having to grind your way through T3 upgraded towers/keeps in your own territory and then defend paper for hours until it’s upgraded is brutal.

Yeah, this happens when your major guilds do PVE when you lose.

Last week we fought BG and JQ. SoS has been fighting T1/T2 servers for the last three weeks. Nobody is complaining, except Mags.

For those of you who need to attend the Derek Zoolander Center For Kids Who Can’t Read Good and Want to Learn to do Other Things Good Too, I wasn’t complaining. I was pointing out that this matchup is fairly close outside of the gigantic gaping coverage hole. Unless you play in, or for the few hours after that coverage gap, your play shouldn’t be affected at all.

I feel bad for Magumma. I think fighting impossible battles in WvW is probably very disheartening.

For me on KN, the last matchups have been a ton of fun. Yaks, CD and Ebay have been really enjoyable fights. After one fight where a I managed to down two guys, they invited me to a group and we chatted a little until I died to their friend. We wished each other good luck – that’s cool.

My only memory of fighting Magumma was losing a 4 vs me fight and having all four guys pointing at my corpse and laughing. That was less cool.

SoR spent months getting nightcapped and knocked down to 0 ppt in t2. Full t3 towers/keeps and our NA crew still did work everyday. Play for fights rather than ppt and maybe you’re server will come out on top.

I enjoyed playing vs SoR last week. OP I hope the RNG gods favour you and you get SoR next week.

Laughing at people after you kill them (especially if you outnumber them) is sad. I do /laugh at people as a form of CC. I’ve pulled so many DB lootbags out of their safe little zerg. Emote pulls OP.

The scores were pretty darn close every one of those weeks, actually. The gap at the end was almost always less than the gap in score between DB and Maguuma now. But sure, keep on revising history. And a lot of us were still getting bored of the match, and Kaineng was losing guilds anyway so there wasn’t much more to get out of that matchup.

e]Edit: I should also say that I would be very surprised if many members of the WvW-concentrated guilds actually did not like last week’s matchup. Ehmry was a very close contender score-wise and FA actually likes to fight open field.

the kain/yaks/cd match-ups where much closer(i believe maybe a 10k points difference between 1st and 3rd) then the mags/yaks/kain matches(around 50k points difference)personally i think sos/mags and cd would probably be closer then your current matches but the new system seems to be trying to figure out where mags belongs because you where better then the old t3 but dont belong in what the old t2 as your last few matches have shown

The karma train always happens. It’s simply one of our commanders’ style. Of course the matches weren’t as close as they could have been, but I wouldn’t call it a senseless beatdown. That would be more like CD/TC/SoS.

Because Mag is that little annoying kid who can’t kitten and your stuck sitting next to them through out the whole school year. All they do is talk and talk and talk, when you finally confront them they go and run and hide under the teachers desk with a straw and a wad of paper.

Trust me FA isn’t feeling that great right now either. DB just has way too many people. They can keep a full large zerg on each map 24/7. It isn’t even worth playing when you are up against them.

it’s not so much that people are gloating; it’s really a chance to answer the question. Truthfully, a majority of Maguuma forum posters come off as sore losers/poor sports. most of the time if i group with a Maguuma player in WvW we have friendly, funny conversation. In contrast, the Maguuma forum warrior comes off rather …. bitter.

This was a few months ago but when we faced Mag, they smack talked constantly on the forums and in the game constantly gloated after wins by dancing on corpses and the like. Some people like that but it comes with a rep and that rep seems to have stuck with Maguuma for better or worse. Things may have changed there though.

I wouldn’t know. I can’t run with zergs or go up against them cause of lag so I am just always solo roaming or with a small havoc group. But just being pushed by TC doesn’t change the fact that you have a kitten ton of people and seem to keep a zerg on every map. Not saying it is like your fault that you have a crap ton of people just an observation. Could be that you don’t always have it but in East-Asian prime time you guys are everywhere in force.

The only answer to the question is a kittenty ranking system. The question wasn’t “Why do forum posters dislike Maguuma?” So it has nothing to do with forum warriors. Most of the Maguuma forum warriors are the ones you’d find being friendly in WvW, because we regard the forum as a whole different breeding ground.

Because when Mag beats weaker enemies, they boast about how elite Mags are and how garbage their enemies are, and come out in force to ride the karma train. And when Mag gets roll over by stronger enemies, they complain about lack of coverage and manpower, and just stops playing.

Excuses, excuses, and more excuses. Poor winner and sore loser all in one server. Maguuma never ever respect their enemies. That’s why no one likes them.

This is the thing though,
I think everyone with a brain knows that the people who actually PLAY on Maguuma are probably fine.

Reality doesn’t always work so logically though,
And the most vocal group of forum posters for any given server have major impact on that server’s reputation with other servers, whether they are representative of that server’s majority opinion or not,
For Maguuma that most vocal group of forum posters are poor sports and kittens.

EDIT: If I had looked at who I was responding to, my post likely would have been different, but I don’t want to rewrite it all now so i’m just gonna stick with it.

I’ve said my share of things about other servers, and I covered it in the 1st fact. If that’s what you were referring to. Other than that, I don’t believe my forum name is memorable, as I really do not post in these 10 page weekly threads that often. I skim for pictures mostly, or read my own guild’s posts, sometimes.

I just took a look at your guys’ map and noticed FABL’s garri was your righteous color, Magerba. Good show, I’ll always love you guys even though you’ll probably tl;dr this
