There’s certainly nothing widespread, but there has been some minor collusion here and there. Certain roaming guilds trading flips of the north camp in TCBL for most of yesterday, while standing peacefully beside each other isn’t something that can be mistaken. But…. that’s pretty much just certain people who have grudges being petty and spiteful. (And no, it wasn’t any of the guilds that left recently)

As a whole though, no, there’s no double team going on. Just smart map politics, and and we need step up our game, and get back to being able to hold down our own borderland too. A lot of very bad choices happened over the years which need to finally be corrected. Will it happen? I don’t know. But those bad choices need to be undone if TC wants to handle this level of competition. Otherwise, we’re just going to keep getting pushed back into our garrison by BG, while DB take an occasional swing at us at opportune times. I think a lot of people had gotten used to resting back during the easy matches in T2, so a tough matchup is exactly what we’ve been needing. It’s like just starting a workout after your muscles have atrophied. There’s bound to be some pain and occasional groaning, but… in time that’ll all fade away as people get used to exercising again. Personally, I welcome the challenge, and look forward to the benefits that it will provide.

Okay I have friends in TC and in DB – but I don’t help either of them lol. If anything, we find it even more fun to find and defeat each other then throw shame siege at and t-bag lol.. I don’t doubt that a leader of some guild on BG is a friend of some leader of some guild on DB and that they might make plays together at times. In the same breath, I don’t doubt DB and TC do it, I don’t doubt BG and TC do it lol.

At this point, most people who have been doing WvW for a long time have friends in just about every kitten server. I’ve had friends on DB and TC warn me where their blob is at so that I can avoid running in to them with my roaming group, but I’m certainly not double teaming anyone.

If there is any effort at all, it is not a big effort. It may be the workings of a couple of commanders if there is anything, but there is nothing that I am aware of as a guild leader on Blackgate personally. We queue every map during NA prime and I know I watch our big blobs taking Dragonbrands stuff just as much as I see them taking TC stuff.

How does a server “accept” any guild/player? Last I recall only Anet has the ability to manually turn transfers off.

You also assume the servers from the past contain the same guilds and members you can take revenge upon today. That’s very likely not the case and you’re basically targeting people who don’t even know what you’re talking about. It’s like boycotting an entire store over one employee who has since then found another job. Lol!

As far as the last wvw season that is in the past(2013?) which is strange that players are still aggravated about it :P. Why did that TC/jQ team-up happen in the first place? Because of people talking about how the wvw seasons were always decided at the start. BG was so over stacked that they were stomping JQ during Sea/OCX which was normally JQ strongest coverage. 3rd week of that wvw season was when enough wvw guilds agreed to take BG down a notch.

That alliance created a very boring season but interesting weekly forum discussions on the idea of wvw. Wvw is open fighting so anything goes, talk about honor is nonsense, that only takes place in fair competitions (Dueling, GvG, pvp) not wvw were having better coverage makes you win. Everyone want to win in wvw but that tend to be out of our control.

you know what I find funny, when we are losing, and getting crushed during OCX/SEA hours, it isn’t the Alliance who moved from YB leading us.

It is our old loyal TC guilds who remained who is leading us. HIRE led by Inori Cross and White Lotus led by Kinbear.

They are leading us in our darkest hours.

Having played during the season where there was an actual coordinated 2v1 that lasted longer than one evening, this is not happening. The score alone tells the story. It is incredibly difficult to get that many guild groups across multiple servers to be on the same page for any length of time.

I’ve read a lot of posts over the past two weeks and I still believe that most guilds move around in order to find people to fight. The Alliance is incredibly good at getting everyone riled up enough to log in and kick kitten . Its effective considering your other option would be to not play.

Also, someone had better write all of this into a novel. I tell people TC stories and that is the response I get every time. Remember too we have folks on Kaineng involved in this too. (and the commanders I’ve run with from there are hilarious)

WL/HIRE defs giving us OCX players a lot of fights/fun. Props to fighting and not 100% nuthugging siege liek YB did in T1 and running away like SoX all day every day.

I pretty much live in WvW (BG), and do not see coordinated double teams, ever. Now, if we are attacking TC and DB shows up from a different direction, yes we seem to always deal with TC first, as they are much more of a threat (no offense to DB, but TC has much more experience) usually.

Now if it were YB what showed up behind an enemy we were fighting, and dropped their usual 100+ siege crap, I can guarantee we’d immediately turn and farm those turkeys straight out of the zone, regardless of what the other team was doing. Not because they are more of a threat, but BG generally despises siege monkeys that go overboard on open field siege battles. And I know JQ had similar feelings like that too, so it can be perceived as double-teaming, when its just 2 servers acting independantly to put and end to that foolishness..

But, then again, I tend to mostly deploy them around Supply-maxed camps to defend them instead of bring them onto the open battle (I’ll defer to actual commanders when I’m in an assault, instead of a rank-20 PvE commander with too much money and enthusiasm who’s greatest goal in life is to Not Lose Speldan Clearcut)

… I really wish I had more time to play. But I’ve been dipping through all the game modes to finish out Sunrise. So I’m afraid that Speldan won’t be safe in TC hands protected by an entire wall of Ballista.

BG rolls on everything until it hits resistance and then it will open field until their population logs. Dragonbrand has long been an off-hour server. If you don’t have the coverage, DB will roll everything you own.

From the looks of it TC doesn’t have the coverage to handle DB and doesn’t have the population to handle BG. I am not sure if any other server is actually capable of handling that scenario. Now a middle tier server paired with YB or TC could at least be competitive.

Sox only refuses to engage when you outnumber us significantly. Pretty funny to get knm pming us for fights only to show up with 50 players to our 15-20.

I mean, I can understand your frustration, OP. But there’s really not much you can do as Tarnished Coast currently in second place, considering Dragonbrand actually understands map politics throughout the week, unlike Jade Quarry during the Blackgate/Yak’s Bend/Jade Quarry matchup before JQ dropped out of Tier 1. So think about the motives for each server at the moment.

- Natually, players who strictly want to fight will go wherever there’s activity. This includes roamers.
- Blackgate has a massive lead at the moment, so Blackgate choosing who to target doesn’t matter as much in terms of their ranking at the end of the week, at least for the moment.
- Players focused on controlling/flipping objectives will naturally want to keep both servers in check. Because Tarnished Coast is currently in second place, it’s natural it would be hit more. Blackgate will want to keep the second place server a good distance away from first, and Dragonbrand doesn’t want to drop out of Tier 1.
- Similarly, Dragonbrand hitting Blackgate hard is counter-intuitive. DB wouldn’t want to provoke the first place server to counterattack, thus having to face both BG and TC knocking at their front door.
- Finally, there are going to be players who dislike certain members/guilds of TC, due to events/drama from a few weeks ago, and will favor hitting TC more. (I really don’t agree with this reasoning, though.)

Basically, you can see the dangers a closely-contested second place server would be in, and the immense power a server currently in first place has over the match. All that being said, personally I feel Tarnished Coast is doing pretty well so far, since it looks like TC is starting to extend the lead over Dragonbrand. We’ll have to see how the rest of the match goes, now that we’re entering weekdays.

Admittedly, last night I did intentionally pull DB’s blob from Anz while squirreling into BG’s blob from behind towards dredge while TC and BG were engaged. DB wiped BG’s backline and then we just pushed to roll everyone

As far as coordinated alliances, I don’t really think there’s much. That said, having both blobs sandwich us and not fight each other for the cap while ranging lord was pretty lame and I can understand some people claiming collusion.

Honestly with how fat BG/ET are constantly running the other two should be focusing on them nonstop. But even then BG/ET will blob and face roll ftw.

TC beats DB by pushing it in NA Prime. That is what dominant NA Prime servers do. Now TC is in a cage match with a server that is far more dominant in NA Prime so DB turtles like they normally do in NA Prime and expands off hours.

TC simply isn’t dominant for many hours of the day any longer. Few if any servers can handle that spot with the current server links. YB suffered the same problem and they are built around back-capping, sieging and generating PPT.

Sadly had the “alliance” transferred back to YB instead of TC, T1 would have been a fight rather than a lopsided horde running over everything.

TC has way more natural coverage (ie. people not doing overtime) than YB. They also actually provide fights rather than turtle up with 10 ACs waiting for you to go away to continue backcapping.

Yeahhh TC has way more people than YB ever did. YB literally is a wasteland without DK/Chris tags doing overtime which sucks for OCX/SEA players trying to get fights. It’s best they are in T2 or lower and let servers with ACTUAL OCX/SEA players fight other servers with players (eg. JQ/BG/DB/TC and to some extent SoS/FA/SBI).

TC also only won 20k last week against DB didn’t they? That’s without BG supposedly holding TC down.

YB is better at holding what they take and back capping what they lose. YB also has pretty solid coverage. What they are missing is a strong weekend force and guilds built around open field fights during NA prime. TC might have been a contender if many of their players didn’t move off after that alliance landed on their server. As it is now, nobody can handle the BG numbers at least until a re-link.

We will see how TC ends up but from the looks of it they won’t even do as well as YB did in their last full week against BG and that is after they lost some guilds.
